Ondo Finance is making a clear case for why tokenized stocks are moving from concept to reality.
The transaction was executed in roughly one million dollar clips, settled transparently onchain, and cost about two cents in network fees. For investors watching the bridge between traditional markets and blockchain, this is a meaningful milestone.
At the center of the announcement is Ondo Global Markets, Ondo Finance’s platform for tokenized equities and exchange traded funds. Tokenized stocks are digital versions of real shares, designed to track the price and rights of the underlying asset while moving on blockchain rails.
In this case, Ondo processed a large redemption of NVIDIA exposure by tapping directly into liquidity from the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq. That direct access matters. It allows Ondo to execute trades with minimal price impact, also known as low slippage, even at institutional size.
A real world comparison helps put this into context. In traditional markets, a ten million dollar equity trade can take time to execute carefully, especially if liquidity is thin. It may involve multiple intermediaries and settlement delays that stretch to two business days. Ondo’s onchain execution settled transparently within minutes, with each step visible on the blockchain.
Ondo Finance announced the launch of the Ondo Bridge, a new tool designed to bring cross-chain mobility to onchain securities. Now live on Ethereum and BNB Chain, the bridge allows users to transfer more than 100 tokenized stocks and ETFs across chains while maintaining one to one asset parity.
Built in collaboration with LayerZero and secured by a decentralized network of verifiers, including Canary, the bridge is live through Stargate Finance. This setup enables thousands of applications on Ethereum and BNB Chain to easily support Ondo’s tokenized assets, while also paving the way for rapid expansion to additional EVM compatible chains.
