Gala games review

Already a pioneer in Web 3.0, Gala games is forging the most extensive decentralized network of global gamers. With more AAA titles in the works, Gala Games is looking to expand its presence not only in the blockchain industry but also in the traditional gaming market.

In our last article, we discussed Gala Games and where to get the $GALA token. Now, let’s take a look at how you can convert your Gala Gaming token to US dollars.

How to Convert Gala Games Token to USD?

$GALA is the native token in the ecosystem. It was first made available back in September 2020. The token works as the medium of exchange on the Gala platform. You can earn GALA through staking, owning, and operating a node, playing the games on Gala, or buying the token from a marketplace like Binance.

But once you get the token, how do you change it into fiat? Follow the steps below:

  1. Set up an account in a Crypto Exchange like Crypto.comKuCoin, or Coinbase. These Exchanges are available in the US.
  2. Link your bank account to the Exchange.
  3. Deposit your $GALA from the wallet into your Exchange. (If the Exchange doesn’t support GALA deposit, you can swap it to USDT or USDC in a supported Exchange and then deposit the swapped stable coin to your Exchange).
  4. Wait for the deposit to complete. It might take a couple of minutes. Once it reflects in your account balance, sell the $GALA for USDT or USDC.
  5. Sell the stablecoin for US dollars and withdraw the money to your linked bank account.
What is Gala Games Ecosystem?

Gala Games positions itself as a blockchain-based gaming ecosystem.

The Gala Games (GALA) token, developed on the Ethereum blockchain following the ERC-20 standard, serves as its digital fuel. Gala Games’ decentralized ecosystem intends to give players command over gaming resources. They not only have the right to control the project as a whole, but they also own the gaming things they use. Distributed voting mechanisms will engage players in choosing the games to be added to the platform.

The Gala Games ecosystem comprises five components; the games, the game publishing platform, the NFT market, cloud hosting, and tokenomics. Gala Games run on a distributed network of computers, rather than a centralized server controlled by a single entity. These ‘computers’, referred to as nodes, contribute processing power to the decentralized gaming network of the Gala Games in exchange for rewards.

Gala has 15 games in its sleeves, but most are under development. Here are a few games that you can play:

Games In Gala Ecosystem
  1. Spider Tanks – It is a PVP shooter game where mechanical spiders fight each other. A player can create their spiders from various parts such as chassis, weapons, skills, and skins that are NFTs. The game is currently live and can run on Windows/Mac. It is designed and developed by award-winning Netherlands-based GAMEDIA.
  2. Town Star It is a mixture of a city sim and a farming sim game. The gameplay is similar to Farmville at Zynga. Players can earn money by participating in weekly tournaments, completing daily challenges, and earning special rewards, thanks to Town Star adding an NFT and a P2E feature to the game. You can play the game with just a browser.
  3. Superior – It is a third-person shooter game that is co-op and rogue-lite. A player needs to hunt down superheroes who have turned into evil abominations. You can choose from different NFT characters as your avatars. The game is developed by Drifter, a studio of Gears of War, Halo, and Doom veterans. Superior is up for early access on steam and can be played on PC.
  4. Town Crush – It is a simple match-three puzzle game like CandyCrush. Unlike other games, Town Crush is created by Gala Games to test their proprietary blockchain, Project GYRI. The community will have access to the fully playable test for a limited time, allowing them to experience the power of Project GYRI and play to earn TEST, a non-transferable test token.

The GALA token and the in-game tokens are currently on the Ethereum blockchain. However, they will eventually move to the Gala sidechain. Gala nodes often referred to as Founders Nodes, fuel a huge proportion of the traffic on the games and marketplace. Anyhow, the specifics are a little hazy. These nodes will eventually power the Gala sidechain.

Where to play Gala Games?

Gala Games is a video game platform like Steam, PlayStation Store, or Xbox Store. But unlike these platforms, Gala Games focuses more on projects that combine P2E mechanics, NFTs, and decentralized finance (DeFi).

Of the 15 games on Gala Games, only three are playable. The rest are either under development or in the test phase. You can play all of the playable games if you have a Windows PC. Town Star is playable on popular web browsers. Spider Tanks is a fairly graphic-intensive game playable on Mac and Windows. But Superior is early access, and you can only play it on a Windows with steam installed.

Gala Games Wallet

Gala Games is a Web 3.0 gaming platform. Obviously, it requires a crypto wallet for asset management and transactions. Currently, Gala Games supports coinbase and metamask wallets.

Crypto wallets are a secure way to store and manage digital assets, but they must be used responsibly to ensure safety. Please ensure that you are connecting your wallets on the official website.

Gala Games NFTs

The Gala Ecosystem’s in-game items that can be traded are Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs). These assets can have a variety of uses, each special in its way! Some NFTs might be as trivial as a cosmetic tweak to a playable character, while others might let users take ownership of an in-game character. In some instances, the character development will be linked to the NFT. As a result, people who fully own their items (NFTs) have the power to give or trade those items with other players.

Owners can Play-And-Earn with their in-game items depending on the NFT. In certain games, players receive game currency as a reward for completing particular daily challenges or winning a predetermined number of matches. The player is free to use this coin however they see fit. The game’s blockchain integration gives players total control over NFTs and rewards.

The eventual rental mechanism employed in these games allows players to lease out their NFTs. So a person can use the renting system offered by a game rather than having to transfer complete ownership of an NFT to another person. Players can lend or rent using this system without leaving the game owing to its seamless integration and simple user interface.

It is all made possible by smart contracts, which let NFT owners give other players secure access to their NFTs so they can use them to their advantage. Both the owner and the renter will receive rewards under the rental system. By lowering the entry-level requirements, almost anyone can partake in the Play and Earn ecosystem.
