Ripple Mints 10 Million RLUSD as Stablecoin Market Cap Reaches $1.71B

Ripple has minted another 10 million RLUSD on the XRP Ledger, pushing the stablecoin’s market cap to $1.71 billion as its institutional and global adoption continues to expand.

Ripple has minted another 10 million RLUSD on the XRP Ledger as demand for its dollar-backed stablecoin continues to expand across institutional and international markets.

Data from XRPScan shows that Ripple’s RLUSD issuer account created the additional 10 million tokens in a transaction processed on August 17. The transaction was confirmed on the XRP Ledger with a network fee of just 0.000405 XRP.

The latest issuance comes as the total RLUSD supply approaches $1.71 billion, highlighting the continued growth of Ripple’s stablecoin since its launch in December 2024.

Ripple Adds Another 10 Million RLUSD to Supply

According to the XRPScan data cited in the report, Ripple minted 10 million RLUSD through its issuer account on the XRP Ledger.

The newly created tokens were transferred to an RLUSD destination account. The transaction used a two-signer multisignature setup and recorded a maximum delivery amount of 10 million RLUSD.

While a single 10 million RLUSD issuance does not necessarily indicate that all of the tokens will immediately enter circulation, additional minting provides the stablecoin with more capacity to serve users and institutions.

The development also highlights one of the advantages of stablecoins: supply can expand as demand for dollar-denominated digital assets increases.

RLUSD Market Cap Reaches $1.71 Billion

CoinGecko data shows that approximately 1.711 billion RLUSD are currently in circulation.

The stablecoin has also recorded around $58 million in 24-hour trading volume, according to the information provided.

RLUSD has grown substantially since Ripple launched the stablecoin in December 2024. Its expanding market capitalization suggests that the product is moving beyond its initial launch phase and becoming a larger part of Ripple’s broader payments and digital-asset strategy.

For Ripple, increasing RLUSD supply is important because stablecoins can be used for payments, settlement, trading and other financial applications.

Ripple Expands RLUSD's Institutional Payments Infrastructure

Ripple has also been working to make RLUSD more useful for businesses and financial institutions.

In July, the company expanded RLUSD's compliance and institutional payments infrastructure through a partnership with Notabene.

The integration brings RLUSD to Notabene Flow, a business-to-business stablecoin payments platform. Ripple and Notabene are also exploring ways to connect Notabene's transaction authorization and compliance infrastructure with Ripple Payments.

The partnership could help businesses use RLUSD within payment workflows while addressing compliance requirements that are particularly important for institutional users.

This is an important part of Ripple's stablecoin strategy. Rather than relying solely on cryptocurrency trading activity, the company is attempting to build infrastructure around RLUSD for real-world financial transactions.

RLUSD Expands Into Japan

Ripple has also been expanding RLUSD internationally.

In June, RLUSD officially launched in Japan after receiving approval from the country's Financial Services Agency.

SBI VC Trade subsequently began offering the stablecoin through its VCTRADE platform to both institutional and retail customers.

SBI described RLUSD as Japan's first stablecoin handled under the country's fourth category of electronic payment instruments.

The Japanese launch gives RLUSD access to another major financial market and strengthens Ripple's push to establish the stablecoin as a regulated digital-dollar option.

RLUSD Gains Access to Türkiye

Ripple has also expanded RLUSD's availability in Türkiye.

In June, the company announced partnerships with BiLira, Bitexen and Bitlo, making RLUSD available to institutions in the Turkish market.

The expansion is significant because Türkiye has become an important market for digital assets and dollar-denominated cryptocurrencies.

By working with local platforms, Ripple can potentially make RLUSD more accessible to businesses and financial institutions while building regional liquidity around the stablecoin.

What Does the Latest RLUSD Mint Mean?

The latest 10 million RLUSD issuance comes as Ripple continues building the stablecoin's institutional and international footprint.

The growing supply, alongside new partnerships and market access, points to increasing capacity for RLUSD to be used across payments, trading and settlement.

However, minting alone does not prove that demand has increased by exactly the same amount. Newly created stablecoins can enter circulation at different times depending on how they are distributed and used.

The more important metric for RLUSD will therefore be whether its circulating supply, transaction activity and institutional usage continue to grow together.

For now, the combination of a $1.71 billion market cap, roughly $58 million in daily trading volume and expanding access across Japan, Türkiye and institutional payment infrastructure shows that Ripple is steadily expanding RLUSD's role in the digital-asset market.
