Robinhood Wallet Adds Arcus for 190+ Stock Token Swaps

Robinhood Wallet added Arcus for stock token swaps in supported jurisdictions. Here’s how the RFQ route compares with on-chain liquidity.

SShashwat Gupta•Oct 1, 2026
A comic cover shows a phone using the Robinhood Wallet to route a stock-token swap through Arcus, with two market-maker quotes competing for the trade.

Robinhood Wallet has added Arcus as another route for swapping more than 190 stock tokens in supported jurisdictions. The practical change is in how a swap finds a price: Arcus uses a request-for-quote model, where professional market makers compete to price the trade.

That route joins a broader Robinhood Chain setup that already offers several ways to trade tokenized stocks. The tokens remain standard ERC-20 assets, but their execution can come from off-chain quotes or on-chain liquidity pools.

What Changes For A Wallet User

A user doesn’t need to choose a specific market maker. The wallet can route the swap through Arcus, which asks competing market makers to quote a price. The user receives an executable quote rather than trading directly against one automated pool.

Robinhood’s developer documentation says the initial RFQ setup sources signed market-maker quotes through aggregators including 0x RFQ, 1inch Fusion and LiFi. Wallets and exchanges can use those aggregators as a source of liquidity.

The brief does not provide fee, spread or execution-price data for Arcus-routed swaps. So there isn’t enough evidence here to say whether this route produces a better or worse price for a particular trade. The confirmed change is the addition of another execution path, not a published guarantee about execution quality.

RFQ And AMM Liquidity Are Two Routes

Robinhood stock tokens can also trade through automated market maker pools, including Uniswap. An AMM pool uses on-chain liquidity, which DeFi applications can plug into smart-contract flows directly.

RFQ works differently. The signed quote comes from market makers, while an aggregator helps source that quote. Robinhood describes both as liquidity options for its stock tokens. Where on-chain AMM liquidity is limited, the network also supports a proprietary market-maker-backed AMM called Rialto.

The distinction is useful when you think about the product rather than the label. RFQ is about how a swap is quoted. An AMM is about where liquidity sits and how the trade is executed on-chain. A single stock-token setup can support more than one model.

The Tokens Are Designed To Be Portable

Robinhood says each stock token is an ERC-20 with 18 decimals. It can be transferred and held in any wallet. Each token also has its own Chainlink price feed, using the standard AggregatorV3Interface.

The issuer is Robinhood Assets (Jersey) Limited. Tokens are minted and burned directly with the issuer in the primary market, while direct minting and burning are reserved for Authorized Participants that have completed KYB onboarding.

That setup gives Robinhood Chain room to support more than one trading experience. A wallet can offer RFQ-based execution through aggregators, expose on-chain AMM liquidity, or use other routes. The token itself does not need to become a special format for each venue.

What Arcus Adds

Arcus was built by the team behind dYdX, according to the supplied research summary, and launched on Robinhood Chain in July with more than 90 stock tokens. The summary says the offering later expanded past 190.

Those Arcus-specific details, including its reported trading volume, trader count and total value locked, were not confirmed through a primary Arcus or Robinhood source. The confirmed product change is narrower: Robinhood Wallet added Arcus as an additional routing provider for supported users.

Robinhood Wallet users whose swaps execute through Arcus may also be eligible for Arcus Points. Limit orders are planned for the wallet’s dapp browser, but the brief does not establish their launch timing.

The takeaway is simple. Robinhood is building stock-token trading around a choice of execution routes. Arcus adds an RFQ-based provider to a system that already supports AMMs and other liquidity sources. Whether that improves a user’s trade will depend on the quotes, fees and execution conditions available at the time of the swap.
