Solana ETFs Draw Record $188 Million, but Demand Is Uneven

Seven US spot Solana ETFs drew a record $188 million last week, but fund-level data shows demand remained concentrated.

US spot Solana ETFs attracted a record $188 million in the week through Sept. 25, 2026. All seven funds received money, although most of it went to Bitwise’s BSOL.

That is a strong week of demand for funds that hold SOL. It isn't proof that the same money will remain invested, move into Solana's on-chain markets or support a higher token price.

Bitwise still took most of the money

BSOL received roughly $128 million over five sessions. Grayscale’s GSOL collected $28 million, while Fidelity’s FSOL attracted $18 million. Morgan Stanley, VanEck, Franklin Templeton and 21Shares accounted for the remaining $14 million.

Friday produced the largest single-day inflow since the funds went live. They took in about $87 million, including $56 million for Bitwise and $19 million for Grayscale.

The distribution is useful, but it also shows where the week's demand was concentrated. Roughly two-thirds of the inflows went to BSOL.

The wider fund group gained some ground

BSOL's weekly share was lower than its longer-term share. The fund holds about $1.2 billion of the seven products' $1.6 billion in cumulative net inflows, or roughly 76 percent. Its 68 percent share last week was below that level, while the competing funds collected about $60 million between them.

So the week broadened demand across the group, if only slightly. Four other named funds supplied the rest, and the figures don't show whether their new money came from new investors or from investors switching between products.

Net inflows count money entering a fund after withdrawals. They don't measure shares changing hands between traders. That's an important distinction: $188 million represents a change in the funds' holdings, not $188 million of fresh Solana buying across every part of the market.

ETF demand is still small beside Bitcoin

US spot Bitcoin ETFs took in about $2.4 billion during the same week, according to CoinDesk calculations using Farside's daily figures. Ether products collected roughly $690 million.

Solana's new record was notable, but it didn't approach the scale of demand directed at the two largest crypto assets.

The timing also doesn't establish a direct connection between ETF buying and SOL's market price. SOL traded near $119 during Monday Asian morning hours, about 60 percent below its record near $293, according to CoinDesk data.

The broader market was riskier

Bitcoin traded at $83,324 at 03:30 UTC on Sept. 28, down 1.3 percent. Ether, XRP and SOL recorded similar losses, while Nasdaq futures fell 0.7 percent.

Oil futures moved in the other direction. WTI rose nearly 1 percent to $93.28, alongside similar gains in Brent. The US 10-year Treasury yield stood at 5.20 percent, its highest level since 2007, amid inflation fears, interest-rate hike bets and debt concerns.

Bitcoin was still up 42 percent over three months, but the snapshot shows a market sensitive to war, rates and oil. The available evidence doesn't isolate how much each factor affected crypto.

A network upgrade remains in testing

Solana developers were also testing the Alpenglow upgrade. Its target is to reduce the time before a payment becomes irreversible from about 12.8 seconds to roughly 150 milliseconds. The change reached Solana's second public testing environment on Friday, but that speed remains a target and no launch date has been announced for the live network.

For now, the ETF data is the clearest new development. It shows broad fund-level participation and a record weekly inflow, while leaving two important questions open: how much of the money will stay invested, and whether it will translate into deeper on-chain activity. The brief includes no verified figures for Solana fees, decentralised exchange volume or staking deposits that could test the second point.
