SpaceX’s $268M Bitcoin Move Sparks Wallet Activity Speculation

SpaceX made headlines again, and yes, it’s about Bitcoin. After three months of silence, a wallet linked to SpaceX suddenly came alive, moving a massive 2,395 BTC worth about $268 million.  These quick transfers have sparked curiosity about SpaceX’s plans.

The move comes shortly after another significant Bitcoin transfer in July, where SpaceX shifted 1,308 BTC (approximately $152 million) for the first time in three years.

A Look at the Transfers

This time, SpaceX (or a wallet tied to it) sent 1,187 BTC to one address, bc1qq…4sduw, and 1,208 BTC to another, bc1qj7…6kqef. Both receiving wallets have remained untouched; no selling or further transactions so far.

Arkham Intelligence marked the wallet from SpaceX’s July transfer as a Coinbase Prime Custody address. That suggests these transfers could be internal storage management rather than market sales. In other words, SpaceX might be reorganizing how it stores its Bitcoin, not offloading it.

What’s Known?

According to Arkham, SpaceX held around 6,977 BTC (worth about $815 million) after the July move. Following this latest $268 million transfer, its on-chain balance dropped to about 5,790 BTC, valued near $626 million.

However, SpaceX has not yet confirmed the purpose of these transfers. Analysts can’t confirm whether this is a custody reshuffle or a treasury change. It might also be preparation for something bigger. Since the new wallets haven’t moved their BTC, most experts lean toward a wallet cleanup rather than a sale.

Why the Market Is Paying Attention

When a company like SpaceX associated with Elon Musk moves hundreds of millions in Bitcoin, it sparks instant speculation. Large corporate wallets influence how people read the market. Since SpaceX hasn’t sold any coins, analysts see it as a security move, not a bearish one.
