In late August 2025, Bali became the epicenter of blockchain innovation. 85 creators gathered with Sui builders at SuiRL. Here's the lowdown.

The creators had the opportunity to meet the genius minds building the Sui blockchain. This led to plenty of new connections and collaborations. It shows what happens when innovation meets creativity, face to face. Let’s dive in and see what SuiRL was all about.
SuiRL or Sui Real Life was a first of its kind event for Sui builders to connect with content creators and their communities. It allowed the attendees to share updates, collaborate, and accelerate the ecosystem. It took place between 25th and 27th August in Bali, Indonesia. Altcoin Buzz was also on the guest list for SuiRL with me representing Altcoin Buzz.
Sui had completely rented out a beautiful resort in the Canggu area, known for its surfing. After everyone checked in on day one, there were another two full days filled with activities. This included, among others,

There were also 7 Sui ecosystem projects and a Mysten Labs project attending this event. Mysten Labs is the team behind Sui and Walrus. The ecosystem projects were sponsoring SuiRL and some projects also had presentations. These Sui ecosystems are;
From Sui and Mysten Labs, the following key figures attended;
Adeniyi Abiodun — Co-Founder Mysten Labs
Kostas Chalkias — Co-Founder Mysten Labs
Christian Thompson — Managing Director of Sui Foundation
Rebecca Simmonds — Managing Director of Walrus Foundation

So, let’s find out what happened during SuiRL.
For starters, let’s move on to the creative part of SuiRL. On the first day, it started with presentations by leading Sui team members. Adeniyi, Kostas, and Christian gave presentations. During these presentations, they shared a lot of Alpha.
Gap Kim, Global Head of Marketing and Communications for the Sui Foundation, kicked it off. He gave an introduction and explained what to expect.
Christian Thompson, Managing Director of the Sui Foundation, was next. He pointed out that the next 12 months will see a focus on getting more developers into Move. That’s the programming language for everything in the Sui ecosystem. He is specifically targeting Web2 developers into Web3.
Next up was Adeniyi, Co-Founder of Mysten Labs and also their Chief Product Officer. He talked about building a better internet with the Sui stack. He highlighted Deepbook, Walrus, Seal, and Nautilus. Furthermore, he also pointed out an increasing institutional interest in Sui.

Kostas’ presentation focused on upcoming products on Sui. He was sharing some serious alpha. So, in the picture below, all names in red are new and upcoming products. For example,
He also gave real-life samples. For instance, it will be possible to drive drones with Sui wallets. There will also be a Sui Stream and you can compare this with Zoom.

Before the lunch break, there was an unfiltered Q&A with leadership. Adeniyi, Kostas, Christian, and Rebecca answered questions from all the creators.
Before lunch, there were presentations by Bluefin and DoubleUp. After lunch, the Sui builders and the creators had more time to connect. There was also the opportunity to create content. Sui has set up rooms with video recording equipment. This gave great opportunities to connect with the team and other creators.
During the evening, there was dinner at the Desi Kitsune restaurant and nightclub. Sui also reserved VIP terrace tables at Desa Kitsune, one of the hottest clubs in Canggu. And if you wanted to burn the midnight oil, you could join after hours gaming with DoubleUp.

Day 2 of SuiRL started like Day 1, with an outstanding breakfast. Soon after, it was time for more presentations. Rebecca, the managing director of Walrus, started the day with some great insights. One of the things to expect on Walrus is storing songs. In other words, you can give access to your songs on Spotify on your terms. For example, how much you need to pay or with time locks.
Baselight is another new feature that’s coming up in the Walrus ecosystem. It’s a data marketplace with AI models.

Next up was Jaleem Khalfan, Head of the Ecosystem. He mentioned some ecosystems present at SuiRL, like Suilend, Bluefin, and Momentum. He also briefly touched on the Sui memes ecosystem. However, it became really fascinating with his view on BTCFi. He points out that Bitcoin is the most precious digital asset in the universe. As a result, holders treat it differently. So, that’s where Hashi enters the scene. However, we will need to wait for more details on what Hashi is really about.

Jaleem’s presentation was followed by Nic, the CEO of the Coinbureau. He talked about the Coinbureau’s history and what they are doing nowadays. Their combined outlets have around 5 million subscribers.
After the presentations, there was time for small group discussions. During the whole day, it was also possible to make content in the dedicated rooms. I had interviews with Christian of the Sui Foundation, Nic of Coinbureau, and with Kyle Chassé. These will be broadcast soon on our YouTube channel. A written interview with Rebecca of Walrus is also in the pipeline.
During this day, I also had great conversations with some Sui ecosystem members. Like, Gidwell of Suilend, Joe of Bucket Protocol, Vinny of Momentum, and Nahid of Karrier One.
The afternoon had various activities lined up. For instance, playing Padel, yoga lessons, or an excursion to the famous Tanah Lot Temple. Another great opportunity to meet more creators close up and share ideas and information. The event ended with a closing night dinner and party.
SuiRL was a unique event. It connected the Sui builders team with a variety of content creators. Everybody involved got the chance to meet creators from all over the world. Plus, of course, some crucial Sui team members. It was also a melting pot of different social media outlets. Creators gathered from the US, Europe, Korea, China, Vietnam, Nigeria, Philippines, Thailand, Turkey, and Canada. So, our thanks go out to Sui for setting this up and to the creators that I met. SuiRL 2 is in the making.
The current $SUI price is $3.63 with a $12.9 billion market cap. Out of 10 billion $SUI tokens, 3.5 billion circulate.
