Tether Co-Founder Launches Yield-Bearing Stablecoin

Pi Protocol Enters the Stablecoin Market with a Yield-Earning Alternative

Tether Co-Founder Launches Yield-Bearing Stablecoin

Reeve Collins, the co-founder of Tether, has announced a new project.

This latest project, called Pi Protocol, aims to introduce a yield-bearing stablecoin that could offer users something extra: earnings on their crypto holdings. Let’s look at this new stablecoin in more detail and consider how it will compete with Tether and others.

What Is Pi Protocol’s USP Stablecoin?

Pi Protocol is a decentralized project that will launch on the Ethereum and Solana blockchains later this year. USP functions as the essential trait of Pi Protocol by securing its yield-bearing stablecoin through bonds of real trust-based assets. Holding the USP stablecoin allows you to get rewards, unlike standard stablecoins such as USDT.

The USP stablecoin operates through a feature that enables users to mint tokens by giving USI tokens that produce yield. It gets its name from its connection to the US dollar, but the specific payment currencies remain unknown.

Why is this a big deal?

The stablecoin market has a lot of competition, as USDC, USDe, and Dai maintain their positions. Pi Protocol’s solution provides an opportunity for you to generate passive income. In his statements, Reeve Collins suggested that yield-bearing stablecoins would boost investor interest. This latest project launch is evidence of Reeve Collins’ prediction.

The crypto community relies heavily on stablecoins, including USDT, for its operation. Users can depend on stablecoins to transfer value. The digital market relies on stablecoins because they do not experience price fluctuations. These digital assets provide high liquidity, making trading and other activities easier.
