The crypto market is set for another major wave of token unlocks in the final week of August, with Humanity (H), Huma Finance (HUMA), and Plasma (XPL) scheduled to release hundreds of millions of previously locked tokens.

Together, the three projects are expected to unlock tokens worth roughly $37 million, while the broader token-unlock calendar for the week includes more than $705 million worth of scheduled releases.

Token unlocks are closely watched by traders because newly circulating tokens can increase market liquidity and, depending on demand, create additional selling pressure. Here are three major unlocks investors should watch this week.

1. Humanity (H) Token Unlock

Unlock date: August 25
Tokens unlocked: 266.47 million H
Value: Approximately $18.3 million
Released supply: 3.37 billion H
Total supply: 10 billion H
Share of released supply: 7.92%

Humanity is a decentralized identity protocol designed to verify whether users are real people through biometric palm recognition, zero-knowledge proofs and blockchain technology.

The project uses a native Proof of Humanity (PoH) consensus mechanism.

On August 25, Humanity will release 266.47 million H tokens, worth approximately $18.3 million based on the figures provided.

The allocation will be divided among several groups. Early contributors are scheduled to receive 79.17 million H, while investors will receive 55.56 million.

Another 50 million H will go toward the ecosystem fund. Identity-verification rewards will receive 42.86 million H, while the Human Institute strategic reserve and foundation operations treasury will receive 26.39 million and 12.50 million H, respectively.

The relatively large size of the unlock makes H one of the key tokens to monitor for increased volatility on August 25.

2. Huma Finance (HUMA) Token Unlock

Unlock date: August 26
Tokens unlocked: 458.75 million HUMA
Value: Approximately $10.07 million
Released supply: 2.75 billion HUMA
Total supply: 10 billion HUMA
Share of released supply: 16.7%

Huma Finance is a PayFi network focused on enabling payment institutions to settle transactions around the clock using stablecoins and on-chain liquidity.

The project has one of the largest token releases among this week's scheduled unlocks.

On August 26, Huma Finance is expected to release 458.75 million HUMA tokens, valued at approximately $10.07 million.

The tokens will be allocated across three groups. Investors will receive 171.67 million HUMA, while the team and advisors will receive 160.83 million.

The remaining 126.25 million HUMA will be allocated to the protocol treasury.

The unlock represents 16.7% of Huma's currently released supply, making it particularly important for traders watching circulating-supply changes and potential selling pressure.

3. Plasma (XPL) Token Unlock

Unlock date: August 25
Tokens unlocked: 88.89 million XPL
Value: Approximately $8.91 million
Released supply: 2.69 billion XPL
Total supply: 10 billion XPL Share of released supply: 3.31%

Plasma is a Layer 1 blockchain focused on improving stablecoin transactions. The network supports features including zero-fee USDT transfers, custom gas tokens and confidential payments.

Plasma will unlock 88.89 million XPL on August 25, representing approximately $8.91 million at the stated valuation.

Unlike the Humanity and Huma Finance unlocks, the entire release is scheduled to go toward the ecosystem and growth allocation.

The unlock represents 3.31% of Plasma's released supply. While its percentage is smaller than HUMA's release, the additional circulating supply could still influence XPL's short-term price action.

Other Token Unlocks to Watch

The final week of August will not be limited to these three projects.

Investors should also keep an eye on scheduled unlocks involving SoSoValue (SOSO), Sahara AI (SAHARA), and AltLayer (ALT), among others.

The impact of each unlock will ultimately depend on how the newly released tokens are distributed and whether recipients sell, hold or deploy them within their respective ecosystems.

What Token Unlocks Mean for Crypto Investors

Token unlocks do not automatically mean that a cryptocurrency will fall.

The market impact depends on factors including the size of the release relative to circulating supply, recipient allocation, prevailing demand and broader market sentiment.

A large allocation to investors or early contributors may create greater potential selling pressure if recipients decide to realize profits. Conversely, tokens allocated toward ecosystem development may be deployed gradually and have a different market impact.

With several major releases scheduled during the final week of August, traders should therefore monitor both the unlock size and allocation structure rather than focusing solely on the headline dollar value.

For H, HUMA and XPL, the upcoming releases will put newly circulating supply into the market within a two-day period, making August 25 and August 26 important dates for token-unlock traders.
