Top 4 Altcoins To Pump in June 2025

June could well be the month that we see the bull run kick off again. Bitcoin supply on exchanges is running low. That should cause a supply shock. At the same time, Bitcoin dominance is dropping. Ethereum is also holding up strong. It’s around $2,700, ready to take on $2,800. This is all good news for Altcoins.

These are all indications that the next leg of the bull run is about to start. On top of that, there are events that can help a project get on top. That’s why today I look at 4 altcoins that could do well in June.

Toncoin ($TON)

Toncoin (TON) is a layer 1 for financial apps, and it’s the first of today’s altcoins I will cover.. It started out as the Telegram Open Network. Hence, TON. Nikolai Durov was behind the project. He’s one of the co-founders of Telegram. However, it was relaunched as ‘The Open Network’, and that’s still TON. It now resides under the TON foundation. Toncoin dates back to 2019.

Like Ethereum, Toncoin started as a PoW chain but switched to a PoS concept. Although the chain concentrates on financial apps, it also offers other features. For example,

• TON Storage. This offers decentralized file storage. It uses P2P file-sharing tech. 
• TON Domain Name Service (DNS). This offers the opportunity to have human-readable wallet addresses for TON wallet addresses.
• TON Proxy. Get secure and private connections on the TON chain.
  

TON is one of the main sponsors for the up-and-coming NFC conference in Lisbon between 4th and 6th June. That’s the Non-Fungible Conference. This is the 4th event, and they all took place in Lisbon. It’s going to be the most important TON gathering in Europe.

The current $TON price is $3.28, and it’s up 11.3% on the day. Just be aware that it has an unlimited supply. Not tokenomics that I’m fond of.

Virtuals Protocol ($VIRTUAL)

With the Virtuals Protocol ($VIRTUAL) we’re looking at a launchpad for AI agents. And a popular one to boot as well. $VIRTUAL is down 4% for the day. However, it’s up 66% over the last 30 days and 1977% over the last year. Did you manage to get in early? Well, if so, good on you. If not, it’s not too late. $2.38 seems like a good entry. Its ATH was $5.07, a good 53% away.

These numbers show that Virtuals and some of its AI agents are on fire. The procedure for getting involved on Virtuals isn’t the easiest. However, we will have a series of videos coming up for Virtuals. One of them will explain into detail how to get involved with the ecosystem. Basically, how to use their new and revamped Genesis launchpad. So, keep an eye out for that.

The short version is that you need to buy and stake $VIRTUAL. Staking will earn you Virgen points, and these you need to pledge to new projects on the launchpad. It also requires another amount of $VIRTUAL.

Quant Network ($QNT)

Quant Network ($QNT) is about interoperability and the third of today’s altcoins to cover. That’s important, since most chains can’t communicate with each other. This can happen for various reasons. For example, using a different coding language or different consensus mechanisms. 

To make this interoperability easier, Quant has its Overledger operating system. It can connect a variety of chains, both public and private. The Overledger is an API connector, like an API gateway. It connects TradFi systems with blockchain networks. That, of course, is an interesting angle with lots of potential. 

One of the features on Overledger is mDapps. Their advantage is that they can operate on more than one chain. It simplifies the payment system between chains.  These appeal to banks and other institutions. It allows banks to make almost instant international payments. 

That’s a far cry from their current, outdated systems. These systems take a long time to transfer funds across borders. They also involve plenty of middlemen. With Overledger and the mDapps, this all becomes easy, fast, simple, and with low cost.

The current $QNT price is $115. It’s up 52% over the last 30 days. It has a $1.6 billion market cap. The good news is that all tokens already circulate.

Near Protocol ($NEAR)

Near Protocol ($NEAR) is the last of today’s altcoins I will cover. It’s one of the top AI protocols and has been around since 2018. Near offers an execution layer for AI native apps. It’s a fast, scalable, and low-cost Layer 1. One of the reasons it’s so fast is because it uses sharding. 

I’ve used this sample before, but it’s good to refresh our memory. Imagine a busy supermarket where only 1 or 2 cashiers are open. However, there’s quite a bit of a queue. Once the supermarket opens more cashier rows, the queue disappears. That’s how sharding works, but for approving transactions. The mechanism it uses goes by the name of Nightshade. 

Near also uses chain abstractions. So, there’s no more need for bridges and switching wallets. It uses a multi-party computation (MPC) network. This allows for cross-chain transactions and execution. Near’s AI automates this execution. In other words, it offers autonomous, cross-chain transactions. 

There’s quite some demand for this and other use cases that Near offers. The $NEAR price shows that. It’s currently at $2.93 with a $3.5 billion market cap. However, it has an infinite max supply.
