Trueo Lets Anyone Create Prediction Markets with Immutable Rules

Trueo lets anyone propose prediction markets that must attract funding before becoming tradable. Its rules are fixed onchain, while an oracle handles market resolution.

Trueo permissionless prediction market with immutable rules and oracle resolution

Trueo is taking a different approach to prediction markets by allowing anyone to create a market without asking an editorial team for approval.

Users can propose markets on almost any topic that can be publicly verified, subject to ethical limits. But a proposal does not immediately become tradable. It first has to prove that the community is willing to fund it.

How Trueo Market Creation Works

Every market begins as a proposal. Once submitted, it enters a three-day funding phase.

During this period, users can contribute funds and choose which outcome they support. The market must reach its required funding threshold before it can become tradable.

This process does more than provide initial liquidity. It also helps establish the market's starting odds and filters out proposals that fail to attract enough interest.

If a market reaches the threshold, it graduates and becomes a live prediction market. If it fails, the proposal expires without becoming tradable, and contributors can withdraw their funds. Trueo's current proposal pages confirm that anyone can create a market and that funding determines whether it advances to the live phase.

Market Rules Cannot Be Changed Later

One of Trueo's main differences is how it handles market rules.

The resolution rules are committed onchain when the proposal is created. Once the market goes live, those rules cannot be changed or clarified later.

That is important for prediction markets because disputes can arise when the wording of a market becomes unclear after trading has already started.

Trueo's design aims to prevent that by fixing the rules before traders enter the market.

Trueo Uses an Oracle to Resolve Markets

Once trading ends, every market needs an outcome.

Trueo uses an oracle system to determine how markets should resolve. Its public documentation describes an intersubjective optimistic oracle with multiple layers for disputes, including economic incentives, challenges and token-holder participation.

The protocol says its oracle is designed to use evidence from legitimate data sources, allowing Trueo to handle markets that may be difficult for more rigid oracle systems to resolve.

That flexibility is important to the permissionless model. If anyone can create a market, the resolution system also needs to handle a wide range of questions.

Why the Funding Stage Matters

Trueo's funding system acts as an early filter.

A creator can propose a market, but the proposal still needs community support before it becomes tradable. This means liquidity, initial probabilities and market selection happen together.

The current Trueo app shows this process in action. Recent proposals have graduated after reaching a $200 funding goal, with funding split between the Yes and No outcomes to establish the starting probability.

Trueo Is Moving to Ethereum

The mechanics come as Trueo prepares to move its primary deployment from Base to Ethereum mainnet.

Trueo said Ethereum offers greater integration potential and network effects for the protocol's long-term design. The project also plans to focus on attracting liquidity and building the next version of its oracle after the migration.

The migration gives the market-creation model a broader context. Trueo is not only trying to let users create more markets. It is also building infrastructure designed to resolve those markets without relying on a central editorial team.

A More Open Prediction Market Model

Traditional prediction markets often control which questions can become tradable markets. Trueo takes a more permissionless approach.

Anyone can propose a question, the community decides whether it receives enough funding to launch, and the rules are fixed before trading begins.

The bigger test is whether this model can maintain enough liquidity and reliable resolution as the number of markets grows.

Trueo's current design puts those three pieces together: open market creation, community-funded liquidity and an oracle built to resolve a wide range of real-world questions.
