Ripple and XRP saw very positive developments recently. The SEC lawsuit is coming to an end and their $RLUSD stablecoin has been approved.
So, lots of things are happening on the Ripple and $XRP front. That leads me to believe that 2025 is going to be a massive year for Ripple and $XRP. It won’t surprise me if $XRP will lead the altcoin season in 2025.
On a completely different note. In yesterday’s video, I called three altcoins suggested by our Alpha team. Today, $MORPHO was up by 22% and Clearpool ($CPOOL) by 18%.
So, let’s take a closer look at what has been happening recently with Ripple and its $XRP token. The biggest news is the end of the lawsuit with the SEC. Current chair Gensler has been targeting the crypto sector. However, he seemed to have a special place in his cold, dead heart for Ripple.
The lawsuit dates to 2020. The SEC alleged that Ripple raised over $1.3 billion with $XRP. However, according to the SEC, $XRP was an unregistered security. So, after a long four years, this lawsuit is now coming to an end. The SEC must appeal, but current chair Gensler is stepping down come the 20th January 2025.
With a more crypto-friendly new chair on the horizon, Paul Atkins, it’s likely that the case will be closed. As a result, interest in Ripple and $XRP has skyrocketed. Many institutions in the banking sector put their trust in Ripple. They want to create an alternative to SWIFT. Ripple wants to be the answer.
The next big move for Ripple was the approval of their $RLUSD stablecoin by the NYDFS. That’s the New York State Department of Financial Services. So, this is also a big deal. That’s because Ripple used to mint 20% of all USDC. That’s a lot of $USDC. However, now Ripple will mint their own stablecoin. It’s pegged 1:1 to the $USD.
Up till 17th December, Ripple minted 66.2 million $RLUSD. That’s also the date it went live on global exchanges. These were $52.9 million on Ethereum and $13.3 million on their own XRPL. However, ever since, quite a few more million $RLUSD may have joined Ripple’s wallets. It shows that $RLUSD is very likely to become a serious, worldwide stablecoin player.
It’s also of interest to know that in Europe, all $USDT will be delisted. $USDT isn’t compliant with European laws. It’s quite possible that $RLUSD can take over some of that business.
Singapore’s Independent Reserve became the first exchange to list the stablecoin there. It could mean that $RLUSD can start playing an important role in the Asian markets. That’s an up-and-coming crypto market and hub for many projects.
Where Kraken and Ondo Finance each donated $1 million, Ripple donated no less than $5 million. Many other American corporate companies also pledged money to this fund.
It’s a non-profit fund. However, it shows that many business leaders are looking for a favorable relationship with Trump. Most donations are to the tune of $1 million. So, Ripple adding $5 million does stand out. 14 Do I hear speculations of an $XRP ETF by any chance? Either way, folks, big things lie ahead for Ripple.
With all this news about Ripple and $XRP, it’s no surprise that $XRP price speculation is rife. The current $XRP price is $2.24. Let’s see what some experts expect the price to be in 2025.
So, a price above $20 is likely. Many experts see this happening. So, 10x from here will give us a $24 $XRP. If it goes to $30, we’re looking at a 13x. Anything else beyond, you do the math. So, what’s your opinion about $XRP’s price in 2025?
