XRP ETF Inflows Hit $1.55B as 70% Price Surge Revives Institutional Demand

XRP ETF inflows reached a record $1.55 billion as the token surged 70% in three days. Rising institutional demand and renewed buying pressure could determine whether XRP can break above $1.70.

Spot XRP ETFs recorded $39.78 million in weekly net inflows, marking their strongest week since May as XRP staged a powerful 70% rally and climbed to a seven-month high.

The renewed demand comes after a prolonged period of muted XRP ETF activity. While Bitcoin and Ethereum benefited from the broader crypto market recovery earlier in the week, XRP initially lagged before catching up with a sharp move higher.

The latest inflows have pushed cumulative XRP ETF net inflows to a new record of $1.55 billion, highlighting growing institutional demand for the asset.

XRP ETF Inflows Accelerate as Investors Return

XRP ETF demand remained subdued during the first half of August, with seven of the month's first 11 trading sessions recording no net inflows.

That changed on August 18, when XRP ETFs attracted $5.81 million, their largest daily inflow of the month at that point. Inflows increased to $13.24 million on Thursday before accelerating further to $18.38 million on Friday.

Daily XRP ETF Inflows

Friday's inflow was the strongest single-day performance for XRP ETFs since May 14, according to SoSoValue data.

The weekly total ultimately reached $39.78 million, pushing cumulative net inflows across the XRP ETF market to approximately $1.55 billion.

The move is particularly notable because XRP initially failed to participate in the broader crypto market rally. Bitcoin and Ethereum reacted more quickly to improving liquidity conditions and renewed U.S. crypto optimism, while XRP's ETF flows remained relatively quiet.

The eventual acceleration in both ETF demand and XRP's spot price suggests that institutional interest may be returning alongside renewed speculative activity.

Bitwise Leads XRP ETF Inflows

Bitwise's XRP fund remains the largest contributor to cumulative XRP ETF inflows.

The fund has attracted approximately $542.69 million in cumulative inflows, followed by Canary Capital's XRPC with $468.12 million and Franklin Templeton's XRPZ with $434.16 million.

Together, the three funds account for the majority of cumulative capital flowing into XRP ETF products.

The latest increase in ETF demand is also notable because XRP investment products had continued attracting capital even during the token's earlier period of weak price performance.

That setup has now changed dramatically as XRP has broken out of its prolonged range.

XRP Price Surges 70% in Three Days

XRP's price action has been even more dramatic than the ETF flows.

After defending the $1 support level, XRP surged approximately 70% in less than 72 hours, reaching around $1.70 by Saturday morning.

The move represented a major acceleration compared with XRP's relatively weak performance earlier in August.

However, the rally encountered heavy selling around $1.70. XRP subsequently dropped toward $1.42 before buyers stepped in and recovered part of the decline.

At the time of writing, XRP was trading near $1.50, remaining substantially above the $1 level that had acted as a key support zone for much of the month.

The sharp recovery has also placed XRP among the strongest-performing large-cap cryptocurrencies during the latest market rally.

XRP Faces Key Resistance at 1.65 - 1.70

Despite the strong recovery, XRP bulls still face an important technical test.

The 1.65 - 1.70 zone has emerged as a major resistance following the recent rejection. A decisive breakout above this region could strengthen the bullish trend and open the door to further gains.

However, another rejection could result in a deeper consolidation as traders who bought during the latest rally take profits.

The strength of ETF inflows could become increasingly important here. Continued institutional demand could provide a stronger foundation for XRP's rally, while slowing ETF flows could make the token more vulnerable to profit-taking.

The recent surge in whale accumulation also adds another layer to the story. XRP whales reportedly accumulated 300 million XRP within 96 hours as the token's price surged, suggesting that large holders were positioning alongside the broader recovery.

What Comes Next for XRP?

The combination of record cumulative XRP ETF inflows, rising institutional interest and a 70% price surge has significantly changed XRP's market outlook.

The key level to watch now is $1.70. A sustained breakout above that resistance could confirm that the latest rally is more than a short-term recovery.

On the other hand, failure to reclaim the level could trigger another round of profit-taking.

For now, XRP ETF demand provides an important bullish signal. With cumulative inflows reaching $1.55 billion, investors will be watching whether institutional buying continues to support XRP as the token attempts to establish a new trading range above $1.50.
