XRP Inflows Surge on Binance, but Selling Pressure Stays Low

XRP deposits to Binance hit 21.7M tokens daily, 663% above the quarterly baseline. Yet reserves rose just 0.22%, suggesting rotation rather than selling.

XRP landed on Binance in unusually large volumes this month: average daily inflows hit 21.7 million tokens, running 663% above the quarterly baseline, according to on-chain data cited by BeInCrypto. The deposits clustered around three sessions: 91.2 million tokens on September 11, 44.5 million on September 16, and 41.7 million on September 17.

For a holder, the headline number sounds like a sell signal. An exchange inflow is a token moving from a private wallet to a trading platform, and the standard reading is that those coins are about to hit the order book. Binance's XRP reserves barely moved. The exchange's stack rose just 0.22%, to roughly 2.63 billion tokens, while daily outflows averaged 11.6 million over the same period.

The three days that broke the pattern

The cluster of large inflows landed on the same days as two pieces of US news: the failed CLARITY Act vote in the Senate and the Federal Reserve's first rate hike since 2023. The BeInCrypto piece that surfaced the data did not link primary documents for either event. The timing is suggestive, not causal.

What the on-chain record does show is two-way movement rather than a wave of selling. Inflows that large normally show up in exchange reserves within hours, because most of those tokens go straight into sell orders. Reserves that stay flat while flows surge mean roughly the same amount is leaving as arriving. The article frames this as pointing toward "elevated two-way turnover rather than sustained one-sided selling pressure."

Large wallets kept adding

Separately, large holders added about 1.54 billion tokens, worth roughly $2.2 billion, within 96 hours, according to Santiment-linked data shared by analyst Ali Martinez. That figure does not match the timing of the Binance deposits cleanly, and it relies on a third-party dashboard we could not independently verify. Read together with the flat reserves, though, the picture tilts toward accumulation rather than distribution: tokens moved to Binance for trading or rotation, while big wallets added to their stacks.

What the price action shows

XRP climbed toward $1.50 on September 21, recovering from lows near $1.27 earlier in the month. Open interest on XRP derivatives climbed to $477 million, with liquidations on both sides, a sign that leveraged longs and shorts both got burned during the volatility rather than one side running away with it.

Two technical levels matter. The 50-week moving average sits near $1.51 and is the primary upside target; a clean break above could open a path toward $1.80. On the downside, a volume-based support zone sits near $1.38, where heavy prior trading has repeatedly held price. Below that, $1.29 to $1.30 is the next area.

The piece also calls the rebound only the fourth time in XRP's trading history that price bounced this sharply from a key long-term support band. That is a sample size of four, so the historical pattern is thin evidence on its own.
