BlackRock Drives $217M Bitcoin ETF Rebound as Altcoin Funds Extend Inflow Streaks

BlackRock's IBIT drove a $216.7 million Bitcoin ETF rebound on Monday, while Ether, XRP and Solana funds extended their latest inflow streaks.

U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs returned to inflows on Monday, with BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT) accounting for almost the entire rebound as Ether, XRP and Solana funds continued their own winning streaks.

According to SoSoValue data, Bitcoin ETFs recorded $216.7 million in net inflows, reversing the $201.8 million outflow recorded on Friday. That withdrawal had ended a nine-session run during which Bitcoin ETFs attracted more than $3 billion.

Bitcoin was trading near $78,700 at the time of reporting, up roughly 1.5% over 24 hours.

The latest rebound comes as investors continue to monitor whether institutional demand can support Bitcoin after its strong August rally.

BlackRock Accounts for 95% of Bitcoin ETF Inflows

BlackRock's IBIT dominated Monday's Bitcoin ETF flows.

According to Farside Investors, IBIT attracted $205.9 million, representing roughly 95% of the category's total daily inflows. Fidelity's Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) added $6.9 million, while Bitwise's Bitcoin ETF (BITB) recorded $4.3 million.

Morgan Stanley's Bitcoin Trust added another $3.6 million, while Grayscale's Bitcoin Mini Trust brought in $9.4 million.

VanEck's HODL was the only fund to record an outflow, with $13.4 million leaving the product. The remaining Bitcoin ETFs reported no flows for the session.

The concentration of demand in IBIT is notable because BlackRock has repeatedly emerged as one of the largest sources of institutional Bitcoin ETF buying.

The latest rebound also follows a warning that Bitcoin's ETF momentum had weakened toward the end of August. Bitcoin Enters September With 3 Warning Signs After 24% August Rally highlighted the previous $201.8 million outflow and the decline in weekly ETF demand.

Ether, XRP and Solana ETFs Keep Attracting Capital

While Bitcoin ETFs returned to positive territory, alternative crypto ETFs continued their uninterrupted inflow streaks.

Spot Ether ETFs attracted $87.7 million on Monday, extending their positive run to 11 consecutive trading sessions.

BlackRock's Ethereum ETF (ETHA) led the category with $59.9 million in inflows. Grayscale's Ethereum Mini Trust followed with $13.5 million, while Fidelity's Ethereum Fund attracted $9.3 million.

XRP ETFs also recorded another positive session, extending their inflow streak to 10 consecutive trading days.

The funds attracted approximately $5.64 million on Monday, with XRP products recording inflows during every U.S. trading session since August 18.

That continued demand comes as institutional interest in XRP ETFs has been building. For additional context, see our recent analysis of Bitwise CEO Drops Crucial XRP Reality Check as Solana Fund Crosses $1 Billion Threshold.

Solana ETFs also extended their streak to 10 sessions, although Monday's inflows slowed sharply to approximately $925,010, compared with $18.1 million on Friday.

That made Monday the weakest inflow day of Solana's current positive streak.

What the ETF Flows Mean for Bitcoin

The latest numbers show that institutional demand for Bitcoin has not disappeared despite the brief reversal at the end of August.

However, the concentration of Monday's inflows in BlackRock's IBIT means the broader ETF complex is not seeing equally strong demand across every product.

That could become increasingly important if Bitcoin struggles to reclaim the $80,000 area after its August rally.

At the same time, the continued inflows into Ether, XRP and Solana products suggest investors are still willing to allocate capital to crypto assets beyond Bitcoin.

The contrast between Bitcoin's rebound and the continued altcoin ETF streaks will therefore be an important trend to watch as September begins.

Bitcoin's August rally and the broader market's strong monthly performance also come against a historically difficult September backdrop. Our recent analysis, Wall Street Faces Historically Weak September After Record-Setting August for S&P 500, examines that seasonal risk across both stocks and cryptocurrencies.

For now, BlackRock remains the key driver of Bitcoin ETF demand, while continued inflows into Ether, XRP and Solana ETFs suggest institutional appetite for crypto remains broader than Bitcoin alone.
