Chainlink (LINK) Volume Jumps 65% in 24 Hours: Can It Break $12?

Chainlink (LINK) trading volume has jumped 65% in 24 hours as the token attempts to reclaim $12. Rising activity could set up another move toward $13.50.

Chainlink (LINK) is seeing a sharp increase in trading activity as the token attempts to recover from its latest correction.

LINK is trading around $11.40, while the $12 resistance remains the key level bulls need to reclaim. Futures volumes have also surged across several major exchanges, but the increase in activity has yet to translate into clear spot buying.

LINK Trading Volume Surges

LINK has recovered from a correction that followed a strong August rally.

The token climbed nearly 70%, rising from around $8 in early August to above $13.50 in September. Sellers then pushed LINK back toward $11.

Now, trading activity is picking up again.

Binance LINK/USDT futures volume has risen about 53% in 24 hours to roughly $113 million. OKX and Bybit have also recorded increases of approximately 44% and 52%, respectively.

Overall, LINK's trading volume has increased by around 65%, putting the token back in focus among derivatives traders.

However, higher volume does not automatically mean buyers are in control.

Futures Positioning Raises a Warning

Futures flows remain mixed despite the volume increase.

LINK recorded around $1.84 million in net futures outflows over four hours and approximately $3.86 million over 12 hours. Spot flows were also negative across the 1 hour, 4 hour, 8 hour and 12-hour periods.

Trader positioning is another factor to watch.

The top trader position ratio is above 2.2, while Binance's account long/short ratio is around 1.46. This shows a strong bias toward long positions.

If buying returns, that positioning could help accelerate a breakout. But if LINK falls instead, crowded longs could increase liquidation pressure.

Can LINK Break $12?

The technical structure remains constructive.

LINK continues to trade above its major moving averages following August's breakout, while its shorter-term averages are rising.

Momentum has also cooled. The RSI has moved toward the mid-50s after previously reaching overbought levels.

That gives LINK some room for another move higher if buyers return.

The immediate challenge remains $12.

LINK has tested this level several times but has struggled to turn it into reliable support. A sustained move above $12, backed by strong volume and a daily close, could put $12.50 back in focus.

Beyond that, bulls could target the September high near $13.50.

Spot Demand Is the Key Test

The 65% increase in volume gives LINK greater liquidity and market attention, but it does not confirm a bullish breakout by itself.

The key question is whether futures activity is followed by genuine spot demand.

If buyers push LINK above $12 and maintain that level, the recent correction could prove to be a temporary pause in the broader recovery.

If LINK fails to reclaim $12 and loses its recent support, however, the heavy long positioning could make the next move more volatile.

For now, $12 remains the level that could determine whether Chainlink's latest volume surge turns into a breakout or another rejection.
