Coinbase Pro just announced the listing of XLM on its trading platform! Support for XLM will be immediately available in Coinbase’s supported jurisdictions.

Stellar Lumens has just become the latest cryptocurrency to be listed on Coinbase’s professional exchange. In a tweet, Coinbase announced today that they are adding XLM to Coinbase Pro. The trading platform has already begun accepting inbound transfers of XLM. In approximately 12 hours full trading will be enabled.

The tweet from Coinbase Pro:

According to Coinbase Pro, XRP will be added in four different stages. The stages are:

  1. Transfer-only. Starting at 1pm PT on March 13, customers will be able to transfer XLM into their Coinbase Pro account. Customers will not yet be able to place orders and no orders will be filled on these order books. Order books will be in transfer-only mode for approximately 12 hours.
  2. Post-only. In the second stage, customers can post limit orders but there will be no matches (completed orders). Order books will be in post-only mode for a minimum of one minute.
  3. Limit-only. In the third stage, limit orders will start matching but customers are unable to submit market orders. Order books will be in limit-only mode for a minimum of ten minutes.
  4. Full trading. In the final stage, full trading services will be available, including limit, market, and stop orders.

Adding XLM to Coinbase Pro has not come as a complete surprise. After XRP got added to Coinbase Pro and Coinbase.com two weeks ago, many people in the cryptocurrency space expected XLM or ADA to be next.

In 2018, Coinbase announced it was looking at adding 5 new digital assets to its platform The five coins were: Cardano (ADA), Stellar (XLM), 0x (ZRX), Basic Attention Token (BAT) and ZCash (ZEC). Besides ADA, all of them have now been added. Therefore, it is likely that ADA will be next.
