Crypto Whales Are Buying These 3 Altcoins Ahead of Alt Season

Follow the money. That seems to be a smart move, in all financial sectors, not only in crypto. One way to follow the money is by keeping track of whales. 

So, I’m going to look at 3 altcoins that have recently been hunting grounds for whales.

Ripple ($XRP)

Ripple ($XRP) has been in the spotlight a lot recently. The SEC news should be well known by now. Still, due to legal technicalities, it hasn’t concluded yet. Ripple and the SEC need to refile the lawsuit. However, these are details; in the bigger picture, the case is settled.

Recent news was that Ripple wants to acquire Circle. That’s the home of the $USDC stablecoin. Especially with the Genius Act in the making, this could an interesting move. The current bid is $11 billion. 

This acquisition could see a positive price development for $XRP. That’s why recently, whales have been buying $XRP. Recently, we saw, for example, 

• A whale buying 10 million $XRP on Bitfinex. 
• Another whale moved 236.9 $XRP ($567 million USD) from Kraken to an unknown wallet.
  

At the same time, whales move $XRP around between wallets. Like this transaction of 75 million $XRP ($178.6 million USD). 

At the current $XRP price of $2.35, it seems like a great entry

Solana ($SOL)

Solana ($SOL) is still a solid play in the current altcoins market. Its price dumped after pump.fun almost stopped to a grinding halt. In January, $SOL went from $262 to $105 in only 3 months’ time. However, being the recovery kid as we know it, it’s hovering around the $180 mark again. 

The Solana Accelerate conference just finished in NYC. Their big breakpoint conference will be later this year in Abu Dhabi in December. 

• You just can’t write off Solana. During last week, it kept topping the various metrics. 6 For example, during last week it had the most revenue of all chains.
• During the last week, $175 million has been bridged from other chains to Solana.
• Circle minted $1.5 billion USDC over the last month on Solana. 
• Ondo Finance launched its Global markets on Solana. That’s currently the RWA leader. This offers onchain trading of public securities, like stocks on Solana. That’s a massive boost for DeFi on Solana.
  

So, all this caused a lot of whale movement for $SOL. We can see, for example, a total of 2.8 million $SOL being moved around. That’s around $485 million worth of $SOL. 

Hyperliquid ($HYPE)

With Hyperliquid ($HYPE) we come to one of the most trending altcoins during recent times. During late March, the $HYPE token crashed. That was due to a whale manipulating the $JELLY memecoin price. This caused Hyperliquid a $12 million loss. 

However, it bounced back very strongly. From $10 in early April, it’s now sitting at $37 again. Its ATH is $39.68, only 4% away. $HYPE seems to be on fire. $50 could be the next target, and some even call for $100.

All this started with a series of longs and shorts by James Wynn on Hyperliquid. It’s a perps DEX, after all. The Force is strong with this one.

This also caused plenty of recent whale activity. For instance,

• Over the last two days, 5 whales bought 794,104 $HYPE or $27.8 million.
• You can add another 3 more whales who bought 137,929 $HYPE or $5.33 million today.
