One of the main features of SpookySwap is their interoperability. They bridge to eight other networks. This includes the BNB chain. Currently, you can bridge BNB and other tokens from the BNB chain to Fantom. And the good thing, bridging into Fantom, except for FTM, is fee-free!

So, let’s have a look at how this Fantom bridge from BNB on SpookySwap works.

Bridge BNB to Fantom in SpookySwap

We are going to have a look at how you can bridge BNB to Fantom in SpookySwap. Currently, you can bridge up to 11 tokens from BNB to Fantom, including BNB. For example, BIFI, DAI, FTM, fUSDT, TOMB, USDC, and wETH. Although we concentrate on BNB, the bridging works the same for all other tokens. So, let’s have a look at how this works.

To clarify, bridging is moving a token from one blockchain to another one. Don’t confuse this with swapping! The bridging process requires two transactions. Since it involves two chains, it can take anywhere from 10 minutes to 24 hours. You can follow the process on the respective blockchain scanners.

1) Select the Network

On the SpookySwap dashboard, go to the ‘Bridges’ tab and click it. This will bring you to the bridge UI. Now you need to select the originating chain, BSC or BNB, and the destination chain, Fantom. In the picture below, you can see this in the red box with a red ‘1’ next to it.

2) Select the token

In the ‘Token to Bridge’ box, you can select which token you want to bridge. In our sample, this is the BNB coin. Next to this, you can select how much BNB you would like to bridge. See the picture below.

3) Click ‘Bridge Token’.

This is the red circle with the ‘3’ inside it, on the picture below.

4) Follow the Transaction

You can check on FTMscan if the transaction went through. However, to see the token in your wallet, you will first need to add it to your wallet. So, you will need to switch your wallet to the Fantom Opera network and connect. In short, follow these steps to add a new token:

  • Go to Swap
  • Click on any token button. Now you will see the token selection list.
  • Find the token you’ve just bridged. You can also import it with its address on Fantom Opera.
  • Click on the “+” to add to your wallet display.

In a MetaMask you will have to add BNB manually. See the picture below.

Since you’re now on the Fantom network. So, for any transaction, you will need FTM for gas. Don’t worry, here’s a guide on how you can get free FTM for your gas fees.

Conclusion

We showed you how you can bridge BNB to Fantom in SpookySwap. By following the steps described above, this should be an easy process. You can even get some free FTM for gas to get you going.
