MoonPay and Dunamu Explore Stablecoin Payments and GIWA Expansion
MoonPay and Dunamu will study stablecoin cross-border payments, corporate treasury tools and wider overseas access to Dunamu's GIWA blockchain.

MoonPay and Dunamu are teaming up to study stablecoin payments and help Dunamu's GIWA blockchain reach users outside Korea. For now, nothing launches. Both companies call this a collaboration they still have to test.
MoonPay announced the plan in a release dated October 20 in New York. In Korea it was already October 21. The release describes a strategic collaboration on global financial infrastructure built on digital assets.
Stablecoin Transfers Come First
The first job is payments. The companies will look for ways to work together on global payments and moving funds with stablecoins, and will check whether that can work as a business.
They will also look at how digital asset infrastructure could serve corporate finance and treasury operations. In plain terms, that means how businesses hold, move and manage money.
Bugeon Lee, MoonPay's head of APAC, explained why the second part matters to the company:
"For stablecoins to function as global financial infrastructure, it is important to have the technology and network to support not only cross-border payments and fund transfers, but also the real financial operations of businesses."
Cross-border stablecoin payments are a crowded pitch. Polygon made a similar move when it added TRON support for cross-border transfers and stablecoin payments.
What MoonPay Brings to GIWA
The GIWA side is about reach. The companies want MoonPay's global partner network to give overseas users more access to services and assets in the GIWA ecosystem. They also want to find new business opportunities together in global markets.
MoonPay says it was founded in 2019 and serves more than 35 million customers in 180 countries, along with more than 1,500 enterprise clients across crypto and fintech. If GIWA wants users outside Korea, that customer base is the draw.
Lee said the two will "explore new possibilities for digital assets and work together so that the GIWA ecosystem can expand into global markets."
No Stablecoin, Timeline or Terms Yet
If you use GIWA or hold assets on it, nothing changes today. MoonPay's release does not name a stablecoin or a chain other than GIWA. It gives no launch date and no financial terms.
The release also has no quote from Dunamu. All the detail so far comes from MoonPay.
The next step is a detailed review. The companies plan to confirm the technical and commercial potential of each area. The useful signal will be the first named product: a specific stablecoin, a payments corridor or a date when overseas users can actually reach GIWA through MoonPay.
