Cronos is a blockchain built on the IBC network of Cosmos. That’s the Inter Blockchain Communications of Cosmos. This connects all blockchains in the Cosmos ecosystem. However, it’s also compatible with EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) chains. So, it connects the Ethereum and Cosmos ecosystems.
Their token is CRO. This is the native token of its parallel chain, the Crypto.org chain. This chain hosts the Crypto.com exchange. So, we’re going to have a look at the top 3 wallets that support Cronos.
Christmas came early for us – #CronosChain has surpassed 1M wallet addresses! We have so much to be thankful for, but most of all we couldn’t have done it without YOU. Thank you #crofam for all your support! pic.twitter.com/HkSaV27L4f

1) Free Wallet
Free Wallet supports 100+ cryptocurrencies. This wallet is available as a web, iOS, or Android option. However, it is a custodial wallet. Free Wallet keeps your private keys. As an advantage, you can retrieve your funds via your registered email. Each new account must register via social media or an email address.
A bonus is that transfers between Free Wallet users are free and instant. Free Wallet also keeps your coins in cold storage. For security, they offer 2FA, a pin code, and fingerprint support. The team translated the interface into thirteen languages. Their team also claims that they might be able to back you up in case of a mistake. On Free Wallet, you can buy crypto with a credit card.
Free wallet also offers a multi wallet for all cryptocurrencies it supports. On the other hand, you can also have up to 23 different dedicated wallets for only one cryptocurrency. Free Wallet Lite combines these two options. Furthermore, the wallet offers a built-in exchange. However, as already mentioned, it’s a custodial, hot wallet. In other words, you’re not in control of your private keys. As a hot wallet, your chances of getting hacked are higher compared to a cold wallet.
We don't charge fees when you send crypto to another Freewallet account. The rest transactions require a network fee to be paid. We don't collect any of that; all these fees go to transaction validators. pic.twitter.com/Xuo4cnlnvZ

2) MetaMask
MetaMask is one of the most popular Ethereum compatible wallets. It’s also a non-custodial wallet. This means that you’re responsible for the private keys. In other words, there are no middlemen involved. However, you don’t want to lose your private keys. If that happens, you can’t recover your MetaMask account.
With your MetaMask wallet, you can use all EVM compatible chains. So, although Cronos built on Cosmos, they are EVM compatible. However, recently, MetaMask was the center point of some controversy. It turned out that the company behind MetaMask, Consensys, was sharing IP information. The RPC offers this information. This is the remote procedure call. You can change this RPC if you wish to do so. Here’s a guide on how to do this.
You can also import your MetaMask into a different wallet, like Rabby. This will also help you with better privacy protection. Nonetheless, adding Cronos to your MetaMask is easy. Cronos has an easy-to-follow guide on how to do this. This only involves three steps, and you’re done. See the picture below in the yellow box, where you can find the various networks in MetaMask.
💡Historically, financial systems have forced people to leave assets in the custody of others.
Cryptocurrency gives us the opportunity to be in control of our own digital assets and financial futures.
To access this opportunity, we *must* custody our own digital assets. 🧵👇

3) Trezor
The Trezor wallet is a cold storage hardware wallet. This means that your wallet is not connected to the internet. The cold storage wallets are currently some of the safest wallets available. They are also non-custodial. Trezor is one of the top brands in this market. Their Model T is their flagship wallet.
Trezor wallets support the Cronos network. You can use third-party wallets and connect them with Trezor. For added security, Trezor offers a PIN option, up to 50 digits long. You can also add a password for added safety.
The wallet has a web-based UI (user interface). However, the actual wallet has a convenient touch screen. Trezor also offers access to some exchanges in their wallets. For instance, Changelly is such an option. The Trezor T supports 1800+ coins. Unfortunately, it’s an expensive option at $219.
Coin control allows you to choose specific inputs for your transaction to enhance your privacy. To put it simply, you choose what you spend.
