Robinhood, the popular trading app, has just expanded its crypto offerings

Staking is a method used by many blockchains, including Ethereum and Solana, to secure their networks and process transactions. For example, an investor holding 1 ETH or SOL on Robinhood can now opt into staking and earn rewards directly in their account. This is a straightforward way to grow one’s crypto holdings passively, without needing to manage complex wallets or use third-party services.
Ethereum’s shift to proof of stake with its “Merge” update has accelerated staking’s popularity. Data from Staking Rewards shows that over 23 million ETH are currently staked, representing more than 19% of the total supply. Meanwhile, Solana’s high-speed network attracts many users who also stake to earn returns, supporting a vibrant ecosystem.
