Strategy preferred stocks STRF STRC STRK and STRD move to a daily dividend schedule

Strategy shareholders have approved a proposal to introduce daily dividends for four of the company’s preferred stock series: STRF, STRC, STRK, and STRD. The change will allow dividends to accrue for every calendar day, including weekends and holidays, with payments scheduled for the next business day when declared and payable.

In a Form 8-K filing dated October 28, Strategy said preliminary voting results showed that the required shareholder approval had been obtained. The company still needs to complete the applicable filings and make the amended terms effective.

The new schedule is expected to begin on November 1, 2026, for STRC. STRF, STRK, and STRD are scheduled to follow on January 1, 2027.

Strategy says the change is designed to improve liquidity, reduce reinvestment delays, and support price stability across its preferred securities. The company hopes that a more frequent payment structure will make these products more attractive to a broader range of investors.

Which Strategy preferred stocks will pay daily dividends?

The approved proposal covers four U.S.-listed preferred stock series associated with Strategy’s digital credit platform.

  • STRC (Stretch): A variable-rate preferred stock that currently pays dividends twice a month.
  • STRF (Strife): A preferred stock with a 10% annual dividend rate, currently paid quarterly.
  • STRK (Strike): A preferred stock with an 8% annual dividend rate, currently paid quarterly.
  • STRD (Stride): A preferred stock with a 10% annual dividend rate, currently paid quarterly.

Under the amended terms, each series will have a dividend record date for every calendar day. Declared dividends will generally be payable on the next business day, subject to the applicable terms and settlement arrangements.

The schedule will not take effect for all four securities at once. STRC is scheduled to transition first, followed by STRF, STRK, and STRD in January.

When do the daily dividends begin?

Strategy has outlined the following transition dates, subject to the amended certificates being filed and becoming effective.

Preferred stock

First daily record date

First payment date

STRC

November 1, 2026

November 2, 2026

STRF

January 1, 2027

January 4, 2027

STRK

January 1, 2027

January 4, 2027

STRD

January 1, 2027

January 4, 2027

The dates reflect Strategy’s announced timetable. The first payment dates are not all the same as the dates on which dividends begin accruing.

The company’s official announcement confirms the approval and planned transition schedule.

Daily payments will not increase annual dividend rates

The change affects the frequency of dividend payments rather than the annualized dividend rates. Strategy has said that the amendment does not increase or decrease the total amount of regular dividends payable under the existing rates.

For example, STRF’s 10% annual rate and STRK’s 8% annual rate will remain unchanged by this amendment. STRC’s dividend rate remains variable, according to its existing terms.

Investors would receive smaller amounts more frequently instead of receiving dividends on the previous quarterly or semi-monthly schedules. The total depends on the applicable rate, the number of days in the relevant period, and the dividend terms.

The company’s stated goal is to reduce the delay between dividends accruing and investors receiving them. More frequent payments could also give investors more opportunities to reinvest distributions rather than waiting for a quarterly payment.

However, daily dividend accrual should not be confused with a guaranteed daily return. Dividends remain subject to the relevant security terms and applicable declaration requirements.

Weekend and holiday payments come with settlement rules

Although the new framework establishes a record date for every calendar day, the actual treatment of dividend entitlements can depend on the trading and clearing system.

Strategy’s filing explains that shares cleared through the Depository Trust Company (DTC) will generally have weekend and DTC-holiday record dates shifted to the preceding non-holiday day. Nasdaq’s ex-dividend date rules also affect which investors qualify for a payment.

For example, Strategy described a case involving November 6, 7, and 8, 2026. These dates fall on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Under the stated rules, the three dividends would share a November 6 record date and ex-dividend date, with payment on November 9.

The company expects that an investor buying the shares on November 6 would not qualify for those three payments, while an investor selling on that day would still receive them. Treatment may differ for shares traded through other venues or clearing arrangements, and broker policies may also matter.

Investors should therefore check the relevant dividend and settlement rules with their brokers instead of assuming that buying a share on any given day automatically qualifies them for that day’s dividend.

Strategy wants to make its preferred stocks more attractive

Strategy has built a financing platform around its Bitcoin treasury, using common stock and preferred securities to raise capital. The preferred stock products offer investors a different way to gain exposure to the company’s financing structure without holding its common stock directly.

More frequent dividends could help improve the appeal of these securities for investors who value predictable cash-flow timing. The company also believes that reducing reinvestment delays and timing-related trading considerations could improve liquidity and price stability.

STRC is particularly relevant because Strategy has previously sought to keep it trading near its $100 target price. The company has used changes to the payment schedule as one measure intended to support trading stability.

The approval follows Strategy’s recent efforts to manage its preferred-stock financing alongside Bitcoin purchases and share repurchases. In an earlier report, Altcoin Buzz examined how Strategy bought 250 Bitcoin while repurchasing $192.4 million of STRC. The transactions showed that capital allocation between Bitcoin accumulation and preferred-stock management remains an important part of the company’s strategy.

The daily dividend framework could make the preferred products easier for some investors to manage, but it does not eliminate the financial risks associated with them. Preferred securities have different rights and risks from common shares, and their market prices can move independently of the company’s stated dividend rate.

What the approval means for Strategy’s Bitcoin strategy

The approval strengthens the structure of Strategy’s preferred-stock financing, but it does not directly guarantee additional Bitcoin purchases or a higher Bitcoin price.

Strategy’s ability to raise capital still depends on investor demand, market conditions, the terms of its securities, and the costs of maintaining its financing programme. More frequent dividend payments may improve the usability of its preferred products, but the actual impact on liquidity and demand will need to be measured after the new schedule begins.

Investors should also distinguish between the company’s Bitcoin holdings and its obligations to preferred shareholders. Strategy’s treasury strategy connects the two, but preferred dividends are financial obligations governed by the terms of the relevant securities.

The immediate milestone is the transition to daily dividends: STRC is scheduled to begin in November, with STRF, STRK, and STRD following in January 2027. Investors will then be able to assess whether the new structure delivers the intended improvements in trading stability and liquidity.
