Sui ecosystem developments include Samsung Wallet USDC, Hashi Bitcoin finance, and DATA Network AI infrastructure

Sui is expanding its payments, Bitcoin finance, and artificial intelligence ecosystem, even as its native token struggles to recover from September's price decline. SUI traded near $0.91 on October 27, with traders watching whether the token can hold its current support zone or extend its decline.

The network has several developments approaching important milestones. Samsung Wallet plans to bring USDC transfers to eligible users across 82 million U.S. Galaxy devices, Hashi is preparing to launch Bitcoin-backed financial markets with more than $500 million in committed capital, and Sui recently demonstrated a peak throughput of over 40 million transactions per second using its Sui Tunnels technology.

The Sui Foundation has also committed $30 million to DATA Network, an AI training data protocol moving to Sui. These developments strengthen the network's broader use cases, but the challenge for SUI holders is whether ecosystem growth will translate into sustained token demand.

SUI price faces pressure near $0.90

SUI has fallen from its September highs and is trading close to the $0.90 level. Market data on October 26 placed the token near $0.91, with technical indicators showing weak momentum and the price trading below several short- and medium-term moving averages.

The $0.80 area is another important downside reference. It sits near a broader support zone identified by recent technical analysis, including the $0.775 region. A sustained break below support could expose SUI to further selling pressure, while a recovery above nearby resistance levels would offer an early sign that buyers are regaining control.

Some traders are also watching for an inverse head-and-shoulders pattern, a chart formation that can signal a potential trend reversal. In the scenario being discussed, a confirmed breakout could put $2.10 in view.

However, the pattern remains a technical interpretation rather than a guaranteed outcome. Traders typically look for a break above the neckline, ideally supported by stronger trading volume, before treating the formation as confirmed. A failure to break resistance or a move below the pattern's support could invalidate the bullish setup.

For now, SUI's immediate price structure remains under pressure, and ecosystem announcements alone may not be enough to trigger a sustained recovery.

Samsung Wallet brings USDC to 82 million Galaxy devices

One of Sui's most prominent adoption developments is its partnership with Samsung Wallet. Announced on October 8, the integration is planned to bring USDC on Sui to eligible Galaxy users across 82 million devices in the United States, with the rollout scheduled to begin in the last week of October.

The integration will allow users to hold and send USDC through Samsung Wallet, making stablecoin transfers accessible through an application already used for everyday mobile services.

Sui's gasless stablecoin infrastructure allows supported USDC transfers to take place without a network fee. Users also do not need to hold SUI solely to pay transaction fees for those supported transfers.

The integration could lower the barrier to stablecoin adoption by removing some of the complexity associated with creating a separate crypto wallet and acquiring a network token. Samsung has also outlined plans for eligible transfers involving recipients in more than 60 countries, subject to the service's conditions and availability.

Altcoin Buzz previously covered Sui's 40.6 million TPS test and Samsung's USDC integration. Together, the developments highlight Sui's push to combine high-throughput infrastructure with consumer-facing financial applications.

There is still an important distinction for SUI investors. Samsung Wallet's initial stablecoin support centers on USDC, not SUI itself. Gasless transfers could increase usage of the Sui network without creating equivalent demand for its native token. Adoption figures and actual transaction activity will therefore be important measures of the partnership's impact.

Hashi prepares to bring Bitcoin-backed finance to Sui

Sui is also preparing to expand its decentralized finance ecosystem through Hashi, a Bitcoin finance infrastructure project designed to let BTC serve as collateral in lending, borrowing, and other financial applications.

According to Sui's October 8 announcement, Hashi mainnet is planned for a phased rollout backed by more than $500 million in committed capital from a coalition of over 20 partners. Anchorage Digital has joined the coalition, providing potential institutional access through its settlement infrastructure and self-custody wallet.

Hashi is designed to let Bitcoin holders use their assets as collateral without selling the underlying BTC. When Bitcoin is deposited into the system, hBTC is minted on Sui against the deposited BTC and can be used across supported applications. When users exit, hBTC is burned and the native Bitcoin is released back to the Bitcoin network.

The system could enable Bitcoin-backed loans, stablecoin borrowing, credit markets, and structured financial products. For institutions holding large Bitcoin balances, these services could create additional ways to access liquidity while maintaining their exposure to BTC.

However, the $500 million figure represents committed capital, not necessarily capital already deposited into live markets. The rollout is phased, and the project's impact will depend on actual deposits, available liquidity, and borrowing demand.

If Hashi attracts sustained activity, it could strengthen Sui's position in Bitcoin-focused DeFi. The next milestone is whether the planned launch translates into active markets and recurring usage.

Sui records more than 40 million transactions per second

Sui reported another major technology milestone at its Basecamp event in Singapore on October 7. The network said Sui Tunnels processed more than 40 million transactions per second in a live, high-stress demonstration, with the peak result independently assessed by CertiK.

The result exceeded the network's previous reported throughput record and demonstrated how Sui Tunnels can handle large volumes of activity through programmable offchain state and payment channels.

Sui Tunnels allow transactions to be processed offchain and settled to Sui mainnet when a tunnel closes. The resulting state can be verified cryptographically, combining high throughput with an onchain settlement mechanism.

This architecture could be useful for applications that require frequent, low-cost interactions, including payments, games, and automated transactions involving AI agents.

The result needs context, however. The 40-million-plus TPS figure came from a specific high-stress test using Sui Tunnels. It should not be interpreted as the sustained throughput of ordinary transactions executed directly on Sui mainnet under everyday conditions.

Even so, the demonstration highlights the network's focus on supporting applications that require high transaction capacity. Whether that capacity leads to greater adoption will depend on developers building useful products and users returning to them.

DATA Network brings AI training data to Sui

Sui's ecosystem expansion also includes artificial intelligence infrastructure. On October 12, the Sui Foundation and DATA Foundation announced that DATA Network and its Trace registry would join the Sui ecosystem, with Walrus serving as the default storage layer for applications operated by DATA Foundation.

The partnership includes a $30 million investment from the Sui Foundation. DATA Network will be upgraded to run natively on Sui, and its existing independent chain is expected to be retired after the migration.

Trace records the origins and usage rights associated with AI training data. It is designed to help AI developers identify data they are authorized to use while preserving information about where the data came from and the rights attached to it.

DATA Foundation reported that Trace had registered more than 250 million contributions and processed an average of over 3 million receipts per day. These are figures for the existing registry, not transactions already processed on Sui following the migration.

The existing DATA token is planned to move to Sui on a one-to-one basis, with the detailed transition timeline to be announced before the upgrade.

The partnership adds an AI-focused use case to Sui's ecosystem and could bring data registration, licensing, and related activity onto its infrastructure. Its eventual impact will depend on how the migration proceeds and how much activity the protocol generates once it operates on Sui.

Can ecosystem growth support the SUI price?

Sui's recent announcements span consumer payments, Bitcoin-backed finance, high-throughput infrastructure, and AI data management. Together, they show that the network is attempting to expand beyond conventional DeFi and attract applications with different transaction needs.

But network adoption and token price do not always move together. Samsung Wallet's gasless USDC transfers do not require users to hold SUI for transaction fees, while Hashi's committed capital will matter most if it becomes active liquidity. DATA Network's migration may bring additional activity, but the effect on SUI demand remains to be measured.

For the token, traders are watching whether the $0.90 area can hold and whether SUI can recover above nearby resistance. A confirmed breakout from the proposed inverse head-and-shoulders pattern could improve the technical outlook, with $2.10 representing a conditional target in that scenario. A breakdown toward $0.80, by contrast, would weaken the recovery case.

The next signals to watch are the actual rollout of Samsung Wallet's stablecoin functionality, Hashi's mainnet progress, DATA Network's migration, and measurable changes in network usage. These developments will help determine whether Sui's growing ecosystem can translate into sustained activity and stronger market demand for SUI.
