Venice Token (VVV) surged more than 60% to a new all-time high near $28.46 on September 9 after Venice executed its largest discretionary token burn to date, worth about $391,000 at the time of the transaction.
The move pushed VVV sharply higher as investors reacted to the combination of reduced token supply, rising Venice activity and fresh exchange access.
Record VVV burn drives supply narrative
Venice confirmed that the latest $391,000 burn was its largest discretionary burn so far. Token burns permanently remove VVV from circulation, potentially tightening supply when demand remains strong.
The burn builds on Venice’s broader strategy of using platform revenue to buy and burn VVV. The project introduced programmatic burns in April, with new subscriptions triggering automatic VVV purchases and burns. Venice has also reduced its annual VVV emissions, with another reduction scheduled for October.
Venice previously reported that more than 33.7 million VVV had been burned, representing about 42.9% of its original 100 million token supply.
Exchange listings add momentum
The burn arrived alongside increased market access for VVV. SolCex announced a VVV spot listing on September 2, giving traders another venue for the token.
VVV subsequently broke above its previous highs and entered price discovery. CoinGecko recorded an all-time high of $28.57, while other market data recorded a peak around $26.06, reflecting differences between exchange prices and aggregation sources.
Can VVV hold the breakout?
The latest rally gives VVV a stronger supply-side narrative, but a token burn alone does not guarantee a sustained price increase. Continued demand, Venice platform growth and further reductions in emissions will determine whether the breakout can hold.
For now, the combination of a record $391,000 VVV burn, lower emissions and expanding exchange access has put Venice Token among the market's notable AI related crypto gainers.
