XRP Ledger Hub Stability Improves as David Schwartz Tracks 500+ Peers
David Schwartz says his XRP Ledger hub has become more stable, with fewer peers disconnects and 501 active peers. The reason for the improvement remains unknown.

The XRP Ledger's network infrastructure is showing signs of improved stability, according to David Schwartz, Ripple's CTO emeritus.
Schwartz said his own XRPL hub has become more stable over the past two weeks, with fewer peer disconnects. The server has now returned to more than 500 connected peers.
“Over the past two weeks my hub has mysteriously gotten more stable and reliable with fewer peer disconnects,” Schwartz wrote on X. He added that he does not know what caused the improvement.
The latest reading showed 501 active peers, close to the two-week high of 509.
What Changed With the XRPL Hub?
An XRPL hub maintains connections with other servers participating in the XRP Ledger network. These peer-to-peer connections allow servers to exchange ledger data, transactions and other network information.
When connections repeatedly drop, a server must establish new peer connections. Fewer disconnects can therefore make the operator's networking environment more stable.
Schwartz's data shows that his hub experienced fewer disconnects between September 3 and September 17. However, there is no evidence that the improvement represents a change across the entire XRP Ledger network.
The Cause Remains Unknown
Schwartz has not identified a specific reason for the improvement.
That has led to speculation among XRP community members, including questions about possible server changes or even the use of AI. Schwartz himself has not confirmed any of these theories.
The distinction is important: 501 connected peers on Schwartz's hub does not mean the entire XRPL network suddenly became more stable.
The improvement also comes shortly after Schwartz reported smaller infrastructure issues earlier in September, when his hub experienced drops in peer counts and some increased latency.
Why the Update Matters
Stable peer connections are important for blockchain infrastructure because nodes depend on reliable communication with other participants.
For now, the latest data is mainly an infrastructure update rather than a new XRP token catalyst. Still, sustained improvements could provide useful information about the health of XRPL connectivity over time.

For now, Schwartz is simply monitoring the change. The key question is whether the improvement in his hub remains consistent and whether similar behavior appears across other XRPL infrastructure.
