BTC trades near $79,900, on its $79,800 floor. A floor is a price where falls have stopped before.
The price is down about 2% over the past 7 days. BTC is now testing that floor again, sitting on it rather than above it. Could it turn the price once more?
BTC Rests on a Floor That Has Turned It 8 Times
The floor at $79,800 has turned the price 8 times since late February 2025. Each time, falls stopped there and the price moved away.
The last of those turns came on 15 October.
The floor sits right at the price now. Testing a level means the price is trading on the level itself, with no gap left between them.

Trading Stayed Close to Its Usual Pace
Trading volume, the total value bought and sold, came to $1.23 billion on 26 October. That was close to its 20-day average.
In plain terms, the day was neither busier nor quieter than usual. That suggests the price reached the floor on ordinary activity, without a burst of trading behind it.
BTC Trades Between a $79,800 Floor and $81,431 Ceiling
A daily close is the last price of the day. The 26 October daily close was the lowest in 30 days.
The nearest ceiling is $81,431, about 1.9% above the price. A ceiling is a price where rises have stopped before.
A daily close above $81,431 would put BTC over that ceiling. The next level above it is $84,005, about 5% above the price.
A daily close below $79,800 would take BTC under the floor it is testing now. The next level below is $76,782, about 4% below the price.

A daily close below $79,800 or above $81,431 would settle the test. Source: Binance BTC/USDT daily prices, to the 26 October daily close, computed by www.altcoinbuzz.io.
The two prices to mark are $81,431 overhead and $79,800 underneath. A daily close past either one would answer where BTC goes from this floor.
