BTC trades near $80,000, on its $79,800 floor. A floor is a price where falls have stopped before.
BTC is down about 5% over the past 7 days. The price now sits right on that floor, testing it once more. Will the level turn the price again?
The $79,800 Floor Has Turned BTC 8 Times
This floor has turned the price 8 times since late February 2025. Each time, a fall stopped at this level instead of running through it.
The last turn came on 15 October.
The price is right at the floor now. It is not drifting toward the level or bouncing off it. It is sitting on the level itself.

Trading Stayed Close to Its Usual Pace
Trading volume, the total value bought and sold, came to $1.06 billion on 28 October. That was close to its 20-day average.
On the same day, BTC was up about 0.5%. A small move on ordinary volume suggests the day brought no rush in either direction.
Two Prices Could Settle BTC's Floor Test
A daily close is the last price of the day.
The nearest ceiling, a price where rises have stopped before, sits at $81,431. That is about 1.8% above the price now.
A daily close above $81,431 would put BTC back over that ceiling. The next ceiling sits at $84,005, about 5% above.
A daily close below $79,800 would put BTC under the floor it is testing. The next floor sits at $76,782, about 4% below.

A daily close below $79,800 or above $81,431 would settle the test. Source: Binance BTC/USDT daily prices, to the 28 October daily close, computed by www.altcoinbuzz.io.
For now, BTC sits between $81,431 overhead and $79,800 underneath. A daily close past either one would decide how this test ends.
