Exodus and Baanx Launch Self-Custody Crypto Debit Card

The two firms have launched a new crypto debit card. It allows users to spend stablecoins like USDT and USDC anywhere Mastercard is accepted.

The beta card debuted at BTCVegas, a big step for crypto debit card payments going mainstream. A full rollout is planned for over six million Exodus users in 2025.

Crypto Spending Made Easy: Control Your Funds While Paying Worldwide

This collaboration reflects a broader trend: turning digital assets into everyday financial tools. The card allows users to spend from their crypto wallets without giving up custody of their funds. That’s important in a post-FTX world, where self-custody is no longer just a feature. This kind of products are a priority.

For years, crypto holders have mostly held on to their assets, waiting for long-term gains. Spending crypto in the real world has been clunky or limited to a few merchants. This new card changes that dynamic. With support for stablecoins, users can now make purchases without worrying about price swings in Bitcoin or Ethereum.

More importantly, users stay in control. Unlike traditional custodial cards, this one doesn’t require handing over your keys or storing funds with a third-party exchange. Instead, transactions pull directly from your Exodus wallet. That means users can retain full ownership of their assets while still enjoying the convenience of tap-and-go payments at millions of merchants worldwide.

More About Crypto Cards

The 1inch card is a crypto debit card available in select countries, issued by licensed partners, that lets users spend their crypto easily. It stands out with exciting features like up to 2% crypto cashback on every purchase, rewarding users in popular tokens such as 1INCH, USDT, BTC, or BXX.

Plus, cardholders can borrow against their crypto assets with a loan-to-value ratio of up to 10% at a 0% interest rate, allowing access to fiat funds without having to sell their crypto holdings.
