Pump.fun adds TON support for Telegram-linked memecoin trading
Pump.fun has added TON support to its app, allowing users to buy TON-based tokens with USDC. The move expands its cross-chain trading strategy as users continue debating PumpSwap fees and platform economics.

Pump.fun has expanded its cross-chain trading support to The Open Network (TON), allowing users to buy and trade TON-based tokens directly through its app using USDC. Announced on October 27, the integration brings Pump.fun closer to Telegram’s crypto ecosystem and gives users another way to discover and trade memecoins without switching between separate interfaces.
TON’s official account welcomed the integration, while Pump.fun co-founder Alon Cohen highlighted user demand for broader token access. The addition also strengthens the platform’s strategy of becoming a multi-chain trading interface rather than focusing exclusively on tokens launched within its original Solana ecosystem.
The launch comes as Pump.fun faces scrutiny over trading fees and platform economics. While the TON integration could open the app to new users and token communities, its longer-term impact will depend on trading activity, execution costs, liquidity, and whether users find the experience competitive with existing TON trading platforms.
Pump.fun brings TON tokens into its app
The new integration allows users to purchase tokens on TON using their USDC balance within the Pump.fun app. This reduces the need to navigate separate applications for users who want to explore tokens launched on TON.
TON has a close connection to Telegram, where crypto wallets, mini apps, and community-driven projects have helped make token trading accessible to a broad audience. Memecoins are part of that ecosystem, often gaining attention through Telegram communities and social sharing.
For Pump.fun, supporting TON extends its reach beyond Solana-native tokens. Users can access opportunities across blockchain ecosystems through a single interface, while projects on TON gain another potential route to traders.
However, app support does not guarantee that every TON token will be available or equally liquid. Token availability, execution routes, slippage, and any applicable network or platform fees can affect the experience. Users should check the details of each trade before confirming a transaction.
Why the TON integration matters
Pump.fun originally built its reputation around launching and trading Solana memecoins. Its more recent product direction has focused on expanding token discovery and trading beyond assets created directly on its launchpad.
Adding TON follows that broader strategy. Rather than requiring users to move between multiple platforms to explore different ecosystems, Pump.fun is attempting to bring more of those opportunities into one app.
The integration could benefit both sides. TON-based projects may gain exposure to Pump.fun’s existing audience, while Pump.fun users get access to a new pool of community-driven tokens. If activity follows, the expansion could also generate additional cross-chain trading demand.
Still, greater token access comes with risks. Memecoins can have concentrated ownership, thin liquidity, volatile prices, and limited information about their developers. Access through a familiar trading interface does not make a token safer or establish that a project has long-term value.
PumpSwap fees remain part of the debate
The TON rollout arrives amid a wider discussion about Pump.fun’s fees and the economics of its trading platform. Some users have questioned recent fee changes, while the platform’s head of content, json, has defended the adjustments by pointing to external conditions, including a slowdown in the market, and comparing the current structure with earlier arrangements.
Pump.fun’s published fee documentation lists different charges depending on the trading route and pool. Its app also introduced a separate platform fee on October 17, 2026, with the published rate depending on whether a wallet has a referral code applied. The total cost can include pool fees and other applicable network or third-party charges.
That makes fee transparency important as the app expands to another blockchain. Cross-chain trading can involve more than the headline trading fee, and users should consider the total cost of a transaction rather than assuming every route has the same pricing.
The debate also comes at a time when Pump.fun’s revenue and user activity are being closely watched. In recent coverage, Altcoin Buzz examined Pump.fun’s $1.98 million in daily revenue alongside renewed questions about token-launch practices. The TON integration creates another potential source of activity, but it is too early to conclude that it will offset broader market weakness or materially change platform revenue.
Can Pump.fun attract TON traders?
The key question is whether TON users will adopt Pump.fun as a regular trading interface or continue using the tools they already know. The integration gives the platform a route into Telegram-linked token communities, but convenience alone may not be enough to attract sustained volume.
Several indicators will help show whether the expansion is gaining traction: the number of TON-based tokens actively traded through the app, trading volume, repeat users, liquidity conditions, and the total costs paid by traders. These metrics would provide a clearer picture than the announcement alone.
The integration also places Pump.fun in a more competitive position as crypto platforms seek to combine token discovery, social features, and trading across networks. If the app can deliver a straightforward experience with competitive execution, TON support may help it reach a wider audience.
For now, the announcement marks an expansion of supported networks rather than proof of a new growth cycle. Community enthusiasm is one early signal, but sustained user activity and transparent fee economics will determine whether the move becomes meaningful for Pump.fun and TON.
