Revolut Adds Support For Polkadot (DOT)

Popular London-based financial technology company, Revolut, has announced support for Polkadot native token DOT.

Revolut, via a tweet from its official Twitter handle, announced the addition of DOT to its cryptocurrency trading app. As a result of the addition, DOT is now available for buying, trading, and storing on the fintech firm app.

DOT’s addition into the Revolut’s crypto app makes it the 31st token to be added to the digital banking platform. Now 15 million Revolut customers globally will have access to DOT as well as other existing tokens on the app.

Notably, from all clear indications, the digital asset was added as a result of high demand from customers. The Polkadot ecosystem has recently witnessed remarkable growth due to its ability to address scalability and the issue of high gas fees on Ethereum blockchain.

Revolut Adds Dogecoin

The fintech firm recently added support for popular meme-based cryptocurrency Dogecoin. Revolut noted that the addition of DOGE was to broaden user access to digital assets. However, it also urged customers to perform extra research on cryptocurrencies before investing in them.

Edward Cooper, Head of Crypto at Revolut, in a statement reiterated the firm’s ambition to provide users with access to crypto.

He said, “One of the most popular user requests over the past couple of months has been to add Dogecoin and we have answered the call! We have just launched Dogecoin in-app. So now keen crypto customers and those new to the game can buy and sell this popular token.”

DOT Price update

According to CoinGecko, DOT was down by 2.4% in the last 24 hours, and was trading at $15.00 at the time of publication.

Polkadot native token has recorded growth this year setting a new all-time high of $49.35 on May 15, 2021. The token currently has a 24-hour trading volume of $526,074,890, and a market cap of $15,087,738,037.
