Solana Dominates Memecoin Trading Volume

Solana is strengthening its dominance in the memecoin market, accounting for 67% of all memecoin trading volume across spot decentralized exchanges on September 7, according to Blockworks data shared by SolanaFloor. Robinhood Crypto followed with a 23% share, leaving Solana with nearly three times the activity of its closest competitor.

The latest figures reinforce Solana's position as the leading blockchain for memecoin trading, even as Robinhood Chain has emerged as a major new destination for speculative assets.

Solana Controls Most Memecoin Trading Activity

Solana's 67% share is not an isolated spike. The blockchain has accounted for more than half of memecoin activity for most of the period since mid-June, according to the Blockworks data.

Robinhood's share has increased into the low-to-mid 20% range in recent weeks, while BNB Chain accounted for roughly 9% on September 7. HyperCore and Ethereum each represented around 1% or less of the latest activity.

The figures show that memecoin trading remains heavily concentrated. Despite the arrival of new chains and platforms, Solana continues to capture the majority of speculative DEX activity.

This dominance also has a long history. Solana's memecoin ecosystem expanded rapidly during the previous cycle, with platforms such as Pump.fun helping turn the network into a major launchpad and trading hub.

Recent activity on Solana continues to reflect that strength. Fomo generated $1.76 million in daily revenue, surpassing Pump.fun's $1.1 million, highlighting the growing competition among Solana-based platforms for memecoin traders.

Robinhood Chain Is Growing, But Solana Remains Ahead

Robinhood Chain has quickly established itself as one of the most active new blockchain networks. Its DEX activity has been driven heavily by memecoins, launchpads and speculative trading.

Robinhood Chain's DEX volume reached $1.595 billion on September 1, up 61% from August 28, while DeFi deposits stood at about $738 million.

The network subsequently recorded even stronger activity. On September 4, Robinhood Chain generated a record $6 million in daily fees, while weekly DEX volume climbed to approximately $12.4 billion, with the Pons launchpad emerging as a major contributor.

Robinhood Chain also reached an all-time high in total value locked as its ecosystem expanded. However, much of the network's current activity is still connected to speculative trading rather than the tokenized-stock infrastructure that was central to its original positioning.

That makes the latest 67% versus 23% split important. Robinhood Chain has gained substantial trading activity, but it has not displaced Solana as the dominant memecoin venue.

Solana Also Takes the Lead in x402 Activity

Solana's strength is extending beyond memecoins.

Solana has led x402 activity for the second consecutive week, surpassing Base and other blockchains in both transaction count and volume.

x402 is a payment protocol that allows AI agents and applications to pay for APIs and online services using stablecoins. The latest weekly activity reached approximately 14 million transactions, with Solana accounting for the largest share while Base and Polygon PoS contributed smaller portions.

Solana's move ahead of Base is notable because Base had dominated x402 activity for much of the summer.

The shift suggests Solana is gaining traction in a different part of the blockchain economy: automated payments between AI agents, applications and online services.

Solana's Two-Sided Activity Growth

The combination of memecoin dominance and rising x402 activity gives Solana exposure to two very different forms of blockchain usage.

Memecoin trading is largely speculative and driven by rapid token launches, liquidity rotation and retail activity. x402 payments, meanwhile, are designed around machine-to-machine transactions using stablecoins.

Solana's continued lead in both areas highlights the breadth of activity developing around its ecosystem. The network is attracting high-frequency speculative trading while also gaining traction in emerging applications involving AI agents and automated payments.

Other networks remain relevant in individual segments. Base, BNB Chain, Polygon, Ethereum, HyperCore and Robinhood Chain continue to capture portions of activity, but the latest data shows Solana maintaining a significant lead in both memecoin trading and x402 activity.

What the Latest Data Means for Solana

The latest numbers do not necessarily mean Solana is gaining an entirely new memecoin market. Instead, they show that the network continues to retain the liquidity, users and infrastructure that have made it the dominant venue for memecoin trading.

The 67% share is therefore better viewed as a continuation of Solana's established lead rather than a sudden breakout.

At the same time, Robinhood Chain's 23% share shows that competition is becoming meaningful. Its rapid growth, large retail distribution potential and expanding memecoin ecosystem could continue to challenge established chains.

For now, however, the numbers remain clear: Solana holds the dominant position in memecoin DEX volume, while also gaining momentum in AI-driven x402 payments.
