The crypto world moves fast. One moment, a token appears to be launching on a major exchange, and the next, that news disappears.

Hyperliquid, MEXC, Bitget, Bybit and Kraken has listed PUMP

That’s exactly what happened with PUMP, a new token grabbing attention across the blockchain space. Earlier this month, Gate.io posted a listing for the PUMP token on its official X (formerly Twitter) account. Hours later, the post vanished, sparking rumors and confusion. While Gate.io has yet to clarify what happened, the story didn’t end there.

In a surprising twist, six other well-known platforms — Hyperliquid, MEXC, Bitget, Bybit, KuCoin and Kraken — officially listed PUMP shortly after the incident.

What Is PUMP and Why Does It Matter?

PUMP is a new crypto token rooted in meme culture and market momentum. Unlike tokens built around large developer teams or complex protocols, PUMP rides on internet energy and public interest. That may sound risky, but it’s a trend that’s gaining real traction. Just look at PEPE or DOGE, which started as jokes and later reached billion-dollar market caps.

New investors often wonder why exchanges list tokens like PUMP. The answer lies in demand. Exchanges want trading volume, and when a community rallies behind a token, that volume follows. It’s also a signal to the market that user interest, not just tech specs, can drive visibility.

From Fake News to Real Listings

The Gate.io episode could have sunk the token. Instead, it stirred curiosity. Traders began watching closely, and other exchanges acted quickly. Bitget and MEXC were among the first to officially announce PUMP trading, and others soon followed.

One real-world example shows how fast this space evolves. A few months ago, the Solana-based BONK token appeared on almost every major exchange within weeks, after going viral in the meme coin community. Now, PUMP seems to be following a similar path.

Some experts see this as a shift toward listing tokens with high community engagement over long-term fundamentals. It’s a risky move, but one that reflects today’s appetite for high-reward plays.
