What are DOTphin avatars?
DOTphin Avatars is a collaboration between the Sovereign Nature Initiative (SNI), Unique Network, and WalletConnect. It happens at the Polkadot booth (Booth #P34 and 42) at the Marina Bay Sands Convention Center.

You can think of DOTphin Avatars as digital friends that change and get bigger based on how you use and talk to them. If you go to the Polkadot booth, you can get a Proof of Presence (PoP). The PoP lets you begin your journey with these special avatars. But it’s not only about collecting: when you join in, you help protect the oceans, making it matter.
Catherine Bischoff, CEO of SNI, said, “We need new ways to save nature. With DOTphin, we bring people together to protect our world by connecting digital collectibles with real living things.” This means that every PoP you get helps your DOTphin grow. Thanks to info from SNI’s ocean protection partner Aquasearch, real projects can save nature.

How It Works
Collecting your PoP is easy. Attendees can visit the SNI website or scan QR codes around the event. After that, you have to register to access services within the site. Register using your email address, social media account, or digital wallet. Anyone can sign up for an account.
Once you have acquired your PoPs, changing your DOTphin is necessary. The fun begins here. Head over to the REAL Evolution page on the REAL portal using the login credentials you used to collect your PoPs. Your journey starts with the primordial “orbo,” which is the foundation of your DOTphin. When this little creature hatches, your avatar’s evolution begins.
As you gather more PoPs, you can use them to develop the characteristics of your DOTphin. You can also choose the Proofs you want and click the evolve button to see your avatar evolving. This makes your DOTphin unique and customized for your interaction and achievement throughout the event.

The avatars created by the DOTphin are like the anime style that is familiar in Japanese culture. The avatars are relatable to the general society. The creator behind this intriguing piece is the skilled Daria Smakhtina from Ephemera One. Daria made sure that every avatar had an emotional connection with the users.
