On September 15th, Circle announced its partnership with Sony.
The goal is to make USDC a go-to choice for creators and developers using Sony’s layer-2 blockchain, Soneium.
Expanding USDC on Sony’s Soneium Blockchain
Sony’s Soneium blockchain was launched in August 2024 and is built on top of Ethereum. Now, with Circle’s USDC, developers can use this digital dollar to make transactions and payments easier.
Circle’s Bridged USDC Standard is a system that allows USDC to work smoothly on different blockchains. In this case, it helps connect the stablecoin from Ethereum to Soneium, allowing people to use USDC across both platforms.
We’re excited to announce our collaboration with Sony Block Solutions Labs to bring bridged USDC on Soneium via our Bridged USDC Standard! This marks a significant milestone to set the stage for a new era of creativity in the Web3 space.
