Island Boys NFT Collection Review

Island Boys is an NFT collection on the Ethereum blockchain by the controversial internet sensation Island Boys. The duo made the NFTs in collaboration with The Doge Pound. But are buying these NFTs worth the money? Let’s find out.

The Island Boys are twins who went viral in 2021 on TikTok. The duo consists of 20-year-old twin brothers whose real names are Franky and Alex Venegas. Nevertheless, they favor using the names Kodiyakredd and Flyysoulja.

A short video of the Venegas brothers singing by a pool went viral in October 2021. The TikTok video amassed almost 20 million views. It was also re-uploaded to Twitter, where it received over 10 million views.

What Is the Island Boys NFT Collection?

The Island Boys NFT project features 4,500 unique Island Boys collectibles. The collection claims each NFT will provide exclusive access to experiences and perks with the Island Boys.

Of the 4,500 NFTs in the collection, only 675 are minted. There are 150 rarities. The traits include different variations of each twin. The variations include body, head, chain, mouth, clothes, accessories, and backgrounds.

The project partnered with The Doge Pound, a successful NFT collection on Ethereum with over 29,750 ETH in total volume. All Doge Pound holders were able to get a whitelist spot.

Diplo, an American DJ and music producer, bought an NFT from the collection last year. DJ Skee also became part of the community.

Island Boys NFTs have over 7.6k members in Discord and a not-so-impressive 352 followers on Twitter. The last announcement on Discord was on January 9 this year, and the last tweet was on January 5 this year. Community engagement is perhaps not their main strength.

Conclusion

Whether we like or hate the Island Boys, we must admit that they did make a big impact on social media in 20221.

However, that doesn’t mean we can trust this duo. They both have pretty intense criminal records. Perhaps something the normal investor does not want to be associated with.

The collection has low engagement via its social channels and low sales. A knock-off collection of Island Boys have nine times the volume of the official one.

If you are an Island Boy yourself or a fan of the Official Island Boys, you can show your allegiance by holding one of these NFTs. If you wanted a piece of Internet culture in NFT form, this would be the perfect way to represent the crazy world of NFTs. Other than that, you’re probably not going to make it if you invest in this collection for future gains.
