edge wallet review

The events of the last few days have made everyone more security conscious. Almost everything thought to be stable seems to be falling apart. Since the FTX saga, crypto users have conducted more research on how best to store their assets securely.

While there are many options out there, storing your assets offline in hardware wallets appears to be the safest option. This is especially true if you do not have an immediate use for the crypto. The Edge Wallet is another good choice. But it is a software wallet. It has also become increasingly popular in recent days. Edge boasts several security features, making it a smart choice.

What Is Edge Wallet?

Edge is a crypto wallet that allows users to control their private keys. It functions with the ease and familiarity of mobile banking. Edge offers top security. It allows users to transfer, exchange, and manage their digital assets.

Edge is available in both iOS and Android and supports over 20 cryptocurrencies, including Ethereum ERC-20 tokens. It offers extra services asides from storing and managing cryptocurrencies.

Edge serves a global clientele and offers fiat on- and off-ramp alternatives in numerous geographic locations. Signing up with Edge is pretty easy. It simply needs a username and password. The user’s private key is encrypted using the password and then saved on Edge’s servers.

If you lose your phone, you can still access your wallet using your password login. Rest assured that even if Edge has the linked private key on their server, they cannot access your funds because the private key is highly encrypted.

Does Edge Wallet Support Cardano?

Edge supports several coins, but there is no support for Cardano. Here are some of the cryptocurrencies that Edge supports:

  • Bitcoin (BTC)
  • Ethereum (ETH)
  • Litecoin (LTC)
  • Monero (XMR)
  • Ripple (XRP)
  • Bitcoin Cash (BCH)
  • DAI
  • Stellar (XLM)
  • Bitcoin SV (BSV)
  • EOS
  • Tezos (XTZ)
  • Binance Coin (BNB)
  • Dash (DASH)
  • Dogecoin (DOGE)
  • Augur (REP)

Is Edge Wallet Safe?

Yes, Edge is secure. It provides top-notch security for a software wallet and is cost-free. However, a hardware wallet like the Ledger Nano X, Nano S, Trezor Model T, or Trezor One is safer than the Edge Wallet. With features like client-side encryption, 2FA, automatic backups, and password recovery, the Edge Wallet should provide users peace of mind about the security of their private keys.

Is Edge Wallet Anonymous?

Edge emphasizes privacy; it does not send any user data or personal information to its servers. This makes it completely private. Users are fully anonymous and registering for the wallet doesn’t even require an email address.

Is Edge Wallet Non-Custodial?

Edge is a non-custodial wallet. This means that it does not have access to the user’s private keys. Only the user has full control of their keys.

How to Withdraw From Edge Wallet

To withdraw from Edge, you have to sell remotely for cash. Here are the steps:

  • Navigate to the main menu and click on “Sell Cryptocurrency.”
  • Select your region.
  • Click on the “Cash” icon powered by Bitaccess.
  • Search for a BTM location around you and click on that location.
  • Confirm your phone number.
  • Select the crypto asset you want to sell.

Finally, Edge is a good choice. But you have to make sure your private keys are safe. The platform is not responsible if you expose your password to others. So, ensure you preserve your password.
