The largest cloud Bitcoin Mining Company Genesis Mining has reminded Warren Buffet of his past business failures, asking rhetorically whether he is wrong about Bitcoin too, reports Bitcoinist.com
Warren Buffet is no Bitcoin fan. His despise for the popular cryptocurrency started in 2014 when he called it a ‘mirage’ on CNBC. And it is still pertaining. In April 2018, he critically pointed out that “if you buy something like Bitcoin or some cryptocurrency, you don’t really have anything that has produced anything. You’re just hoping the next guy pays more.”
To reiterate his point he went on emphasizing in May that “the asset itself is creating nothing” and is “probably rat poison squared.”
These statements were not left unnoticed by a crypto farm, Genesis Mining, which has taken unprecedented measures to mock Buffet publicly. Thus its co-founder Marco Krohn posted a tweet which shows two billboards installed right next to the billionaire’s office in Omaha.
The sign reads:
Warren: You said you were wrong about Google and Amazon. Maybe you’re wrong about Bitcoin.
This way the company reminded Buffet how he regrets “not immediately seeing the potential in Google and Amazon” and hence refusing to invest in them. The billboards are also aimed to question Buffet’s stance regarding Bitcoin— a heavily opinionated one, even though he admitted that he knows nothing about the cryptocurrency space.
This is not the first time Genesis Mining slams Bitcoin critics. Most recently, it used Consensus 2018 to carry out a “Bankers against Bitcoin” protest which ridicules bankers’ reluctance to recognize the cryptocurrency.
Bitcoinist also says that the company slams journalists who continuously try to bury Bitcoin adding that it enlightens people on the crypto’s merits: “They regularly tell people that they can send money for free using Bitcoin rather than via remittance platforms like Western Union who charge high fees.”
Besides, in the past Genesis Mining generated images of the Eric Schmidt, CEO of Google, quote: “Bitcoin is a remarkable cryptographic achievement and the ability to create something that is not duplicable in the digital world has enormous value.”
Marco Streng, Co-Founder & CEO of Genesis Mining, promises that more campaigns are going soon.
