Electroneum is now available in Turkey

Electroneum seems to be on a roll. The coin has announced the launch of airtime top-up feature on its app in Turkey.

Electroneum announced the launch on its official Twitter handle. The company prides itself on being able to enable everyday purchases using crypto. According to the announcement, the airtime top-up feature is available for the users of three different network providers. They include Turkcell, Vodafone and Turk Telekom devices.

The tweet reads:

“Can you guess which 3 new mobile operators can now be topped up through the Electroneum app? Our CEO Richard Ells has some exciting news for our 41,000 Electroneum users in Turkey”

This is exciting news, as a large population of Turks still doesn’t have access to banking.

Richard Ells, CEO of the Electroneum, in a YouTube video threw more light on the recent launch. He described this movement into Turkey as his firm “first foray into Europe”. Ells pointed out that there are over 18million people in Turkey with smartphones. 12% of these persons already own cryptocurrencies. In his words, this makes Turkey “the number one place in the world for crypto ownership.”

He added that his company will be enabling airtime top-up for “Vodafone Turkcell, and Turk Telekom.” The three network providers for the entire Turkish population and have over 80 million subscribers.
