Google Cloud Service has disclosed plans to incorporate crypto payments on its platform. In fact, to ensure the smooth running of its upcoming blockchain-based services, the platform has disclosed plans to launch a new Digital Asset team.

The team will be tasked with researching and providing the platform with top-notch scalable, secure, and sustainable infrastructure.

Interestingly, top blockchain firms like Theta Labs, Dapper Labs, Hedera, have shown interest in building on Google Cloud. And the incoming Digital asset team will also provide support for these companies.

2. Ethereum (ETH) Hashrate Crosses New All-Time High (ATH)

Next, the Ethereum hashrate recently crossed a new all-time high as Ethereum PoS migration draws closer. According to Glassnode, the hashrate crossed record levels of 1.11 PH/s on January 27. Surpassing its previous hashrate of 1.08 PH/s.

Interestingly, the blockchain recently made significant changes to its upcoming PoS upgrade. For instance, they are revamping the PoS upgrade from ETH 2.0 to “Consensus Layer”.
